Aerodynamic & Mechanical > Nacelle Module > Yaw System
Power Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. To put it short: Vestas Power Solutions develops the wind power systems of the future. The Yaw System is a part of the Vestas Power Solutions, with sites in Denmark, Portugal and India.
Responsibilities
Your tasks will vary in complexity and nature
Mostly focus around design and design optimization of the components we develop
Clarifying design requirements with all relevant stakeholders
Develop concept and detail design of the components
Align concept and detailed design with interfacing modules and submodules
Obtaining, modifying and optimizing CAD geometries to match the requirements
Deliver 3D, 2D and design BoM with right quality
Iterating all the above until we converge on an optimal design
Motivation design and design changes through our Change Management system
Collaborating with the Designers and Engineers working in your area
Create and maintain documentation towards the design
Meet the constant task of designing larger and more complex wind turbine structures
Within increasingly tighter time and cost constraints
Qualifications
Masters/ Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering / Structural Engineering / related fields
Minimum combined 8 years relevant experience at least three of the following
Design and development of dynamic mechanical systems
Computer Aided Design (CAD); e.g. Creo
Product Data Management; e.g. PDM Link
Engineering Change Management (ECM)
Knowledge in EN and ISO standards related to mechanical component design Systems Engineering experience
Certification , e.g INCOSE or formal training
Electromechanical experience
Modular product development & Project Management
Competencies
Quickly pick up on the array of software tools and processes we currently use in our workflow
Can develop innovative solutions to the issues we face when performing these analyses
Include development or introduction of new tools or processes into our workflow
Have a solid understanding of mechanical systems like new model and change existing CAD models
Succeed as part of a team and that it comes naturally for you to collaborate and share knowledge
Have the patience to listen to, understand and respect your colleagues
Are committed to propelling the state-of-the art in Wind Turbine CAD technology
Experience with Creo and PDM Link and Jira
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Scrum)
Project Management and business education/experience
Experience within other large corporate organizations
