Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Deliver high quality software releases as per roadmap for consumption by Varian’s product and program teams.
Work with Varian’s customers, product managers and R&D teams to continuously identify opportunities for improvement of Varian’s enterprise software architecture.
Lead the prototyping of design solutions to the above problems, make key architectural decisions in conjunction with stakeholders, and continuously evolve the product roadmap to address these problems.
Evangelize and influence the adoption of above design solutions and corresponding versions by R&D teams, product and program managers.
Lead troubleshooting of architecturally relevant field issues, providing workarounds and solutions to field support staff and customer IT departments.
Hire and retain a high-quality talent pool of experienced and talented software engineers.
Act as a coach for the engineering team, both at a technical and behavioral level.
Develop operational objectives and work plans that are strongly aligned with company objectives.
Create resourcing and execution plans, regularly track progress against objectives, identify and manage organizational risks to ensure successful accomplishment of objectives.
Oversee the execution of multiple, concurrent software release trains through effective prioritization and resource management.
Ensure organizational compliance to Varian policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Develop and demonstrate high quality prototypes / modules and finished applications that meet the desired goals, quality and are well documented
Stay in touch with latest and upcoming Microsoft/ open source technologies
Qualifications Required: BE, B Tech, MSc, MCA or equivalent degree in Computer Science.
Technologies required: .Net, C#, .Net Core, Experience with WinForm/ WPF, Asp .Net MVC, Exposure working with Cloud native design & development
Skills/Knowledge:
8-10 years of experience in the software industry, with an aspiration in a software R&D team management role.
Working knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud.
Proven prior experience in enterprise software architectures and frameworks development.
Experience designing & developing desktop applications as well as web-based cloud-native solutions.
Ability, competence and confidence to lead a mature and talented team of software engineers.
Broad and deep technical knowledge, with specialization in Microsoft technology stacks
Passion for technology with strong self-drive towards understanding and exploring technology trends
Hands-on programming skills, with ability to develop quick prototypes, troubleshoot issues, recognize /correct issues at the level of code
Strong understanding of the software development process with exposure to agile methodologies such as SCRUM
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills.
