Responsibilities
Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies decided globally.
Develop supplier within alignment with global commodity manager.
Sourcing locally to strengthen APAC supplier base. And onboard vendors globally as on when required.
Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries and take care post purchase payments, Quality complaints etc.
Assign RFQ to global group suppliers and help get the pricings on time for internal RFQs.
Tooling and Die development for the new products in co-ordination with R&D and Application team
Co-ordinate internal stake holders for any project transfers.
Coordinate with import / export team for smooth customs clearance.
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
Qualification Required:
BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
3 to 6 years of experience in purchasing, preferably purchasing from same industries.
Strong Negotiation skills; Experience in Contract Development; familiarity with standard terms and conditions, e.g. INCOTERMS
Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to travel.
Professional, positive, and energetic attitude, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to relate well to contacts inside and outside the organization.
Proven ability to build rapport easily and foster productive business relationships.
Desired skills:
Computer literacy, including use of various software tools; advanced proficiency in MS Word, Power Point, Excel.
Familiarity with standard engineering drawings
SAP or equivalent ERP systems experience.
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: project management, quality management, logistics, distribution, airports, material handling or Quality standards.
