Job Description
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As a Software Asset Analyst, you will be involved in the management of software Licenses discovery, acquisition, compliance, maintenance renewals, life cycle planning and costing.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Facilitate the business’ needs for ongoing technical support and upgrade protection on selected products by ensuring that maintenance, support and upgrade protection renewals are managed/handled/ordered in advance of their expiration.
Should be able to Perform SAM activities, software asset data is captured, accurately recorded, and updated in a timely manner throughout the entire asset lifecycle of all existing and newly Procured.
Maintain software standards, validated product lists, and maintenance contracts within the asset management database.
Collect and maintain accurate Software Licensing information in repositories to address budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contracts, and cost. Software Contract Analyst and Legal to interpret software agreements, determine use rights and provide key terms and conditions summaries.
Manage the lifecycle of software assets from identification, requisition ordering, inventory, installation, maintenance to disposal.
Identify, document, and report license compliance issues by end-users and recommend solutions to resolve issues.
Should be able to perform software license optimization activity and cost saving through reconciliation.
Provide reports of asset management audit results and upon approval, implement asset management remediation plan for asset management deficiencies.
Maintain the accuracy of the data in the Asset Management System (SAM Tool) according to Service Level Agreements.
Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services. Follow through with vendors and Associates to obtain identified savings.
Manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DECISIONS/ LEVEL OF AUTHORITY
To maintain Software compliance.
To keep the Organization Audit ready To maintain software CMDB UpToDate
To provide Inputs to Commercial for procurement.
PRE-REQUISITES:
In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have: Knowledge/Experience
Conceptional knowledge of Information Technology software licenses
Must have working 6 to 8 years of experience of software licensing model, license metric and Pricing Model of various software publisher such as Microsoft, VMware, Oracle, Adobe, RedHat etc…
Written and verbal communication skills
Must have faced Organizational Software compliance Audits.
IT Asset Management and Discovery Tools experience Viz; Flexera, HPSM, Service Now
Experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions
ITIL/ITAM certification
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computers or a related field
Technical/Professional Skills required
All Software Licensing Models viz, Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, VMware, RedHat etc..
