Key Responsibilities and Duties
Writes business requirements and technical specification documents to design and develop technical solutions that meet business needs in the financial industry.
Communicates with IT contacts and business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end-to-end technical solutions.
Performs basic coding to written technical specifications.
Ensures coding components are in accordance with company standards and as defined in approved testing plans.
Identifies and suggests corrections for reported defects.
Creates run time profiles to identify any debug errors that may exist.
Escalates issues as appropriate to more senior team members.
Seeks advice from senior management regarding challenging software circumstances and other problems that require a more complex understanding of information technology (IT).

Primary Responsibilities:
Receiving, logging, and tracking requests for Remittance Certification received from internal customers
Reviewing Client files for obvious issues
Configuring operating environment with client configuration settings and plan structure needed to support certification efforts
Creating mainframe components needed to process remittance files (Jobs, JCL, Procs, Parms)
Prepare Test Plans / Test Conditions based on client plan settings and services requested
Execute and monitor client Certification job streams
Analyze and interpret Certification output to provide an explanation for errors in business terms
Prepare communications to internal customers providing results of Certification job streams, interpretation of output results, and recommendation for remedial action
Follow up with internal customers regarding remedial action (e.g., corrected file has not been received)
Upon final approval of client certification, request appropriate updates to Production remittance configuration components
Update detailed and aggregate metrics associated with client certification
Prepare reports and graphs to be distributed to internal stakeholders and management
Conduct research and analysis of customer requests associated with remittance certifications.
Business Knowledge
Familiarity with Omni Plus
Knowledge of pension products like 401k, 403b, etc
Mandatory Skills
Strong IBM Mainframe experience
OS JCL
OS Utilities
TSO/ISPF
COBOL
Strong Data Analysis and Problem solving
Experience on MS Excel Pivot Tables and Graphs
Preferred Requirements:
Prior experience in Mainframe support / development
Basic understanding of US Retirement Products/Insurances.
Basic Understanding of Mainframe/Legacy applications, JCL/Job Execution, CA7 Schedules, NDM File transfers

Full Job DescriptionThe Software Developer job programs and configures software to meet business needs. Under close supervision, this job assists with identifying and analyzing business software needs, writes basic code to optimize the performance and efficiency of the organization’s information technology (IT) platform and infrastructure and conducts testing to ensure programs are functioning properly.
