Position Summary: Describe below the primary purpose and function of this job
TIAA’s Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) team is responsible for all architecture, engineering, and infrastructure operations. Production Engineering and Support (PE&S) team within GIS takes cares of Engineering, Support, and IT Service Management.
As part of Capacity management within IT Service Management space, we are looking for an associate with strong technical skills in capacity management, Application and server Decom process for Unix & Windows servers (knowledge on Open-Shift technology is a plus), as well as strong SQL and Tableau skills.
Capacity Management and Server Decommission
Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of IT capacity management & ensures that the information technology processing and storage capacity is adequate to the evolving requirements of the entire organization in a timely and cost justifiable manner.
When a capacity analysis is required, develops SQL queries necessary to address request, analyzes results and uses data visualization tools like Tableau to translate data into visual representations.
Analyze trending capacity of critical applications by looking into various capacity reports using tools like SPLUNK, VROPS & drive discussions with application stakeholders for efficient capacity management.
Possesses good knowledge of Server Platforms (Windows, UNIX) and performance metrics for servers necessary for capacity management.
Work on requests to provide capacity analysis or to modify/increase existing servers with respect to CPU, Memory and Disk Space.
Work on Tableau development reports for creating new dashboards for capacity management, End of Life program and Server Decommission as per business requirements.
Engagement in End of Life program including server decommission process: Review, Validate and execute server Decommission process via Service Now.
Communication with cross functional teams, business stakeholders, System admin & Application teams to ensure End of Life hosts are decommissioned as per plan and gets completed within agreed SLA’s.
Track and Communicate progress via metrics on a weekly/monthly basis to stakeholders/management.
Engage in process improvement, testing and release of updates for Server Decommission and Application Decommission process including creating appropriate process documents.

Strong Technology skills (Infra, Capacity management) with good understanding of latest technology trends & capacity management tools.
Manages stakeholders’ expectations and perceptions regarding reporting of Infrastructure services.
Operates across organizational SILO’s.
Bring additional ITSM metrics to play and evolve existing reports.
Identifies opportunities to drive greater efficiency in service delivery.

Strong technology understanding coupled experience on ITIL aligned capacity management process.
End of life and Server Decommission process expertise.
Proficiency with Tableau and SQL.
Solid understanding of Windows and UNIX operating systems including information related to events, CPU, Memory and Disk structures and consumption.
Good understanding of container technology, Service Now, Jira, Confluence, will be an added advantage.
Business or Industry Expertise: Describe the degree of knowledge and understanding required of TIAA’s business and industry, commercial environment and of competitor’s products and services.
Understanding of Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) domain is an added advantage.
Interactions / Interpersonal Skills: Describe the nature and level of interactions this job has with others, both internally and externally. Explain any specific interpersonal skills necessary to successfully perform this role (i.e., negotiation skills, represents business at external events or to governmental bodies, etc. ).
Excellent verbal and written communication and inter personal skills.
Ability to work in a multi-team, multi-region based environment.

Required:
IT capacity management experience.
Strong understanding and work experience in End of Life initiative including application & server decommission process.
Understanding of Windows, UNIX, and container compute and file systems.
Excellent MS Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, SQL and Tableau experience
General understanding of database, network storage and networking concepts.
