Job Description
Your Career
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for improving and maintaining a software development, test and live infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, articulate, have experience with Linux and is comfortable working in a fast-paced development environment.
Your Impact
As you build your career at Palo Alto Networks you will be involved in a number of different projects and initiatives, being an integral part of the team.
Work with Engineering and QA to define and successfully execute cloud automation, continuous deployment on an agile development environment.
Design and enhance software architecture to improve scalability, service reliability, cost, and performance.
You’ve helped create services that are critical to their customers’ success
Deploy automation for provisioning and operating infrastructure at large scale. You are experienced in Infrastructure as Code concepts and have put them into production
Partner with teams to improve CI/CD processes and technology. Helping teams in delivering value early is what you strive for.
Mentor members of the staff on large scale cloud deployments. You’re an expert in deploying in the cloud and can bring a teaching mindset to help others benefit from your experience.
Design, develop and implement Software Integrations based on requirements
You’ve collaborated with team members to improve the company’s engineering tools, systems and procedures, and data security.
Re-architect and fine tune the deployment, monitoring and upgrade for Micro services systems in the area of multi-cloud systems.
Qualifications
Your Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, application development, or operations
Working knowledge of enterprise data center technologies including storage platforms, network switching, and security infrastructure within a virtualized data center
Require hands on programming skills on developing automation modules on Python/Ruby/Bash/Shell scripting
Familiarity with a broad portfolio of AWS/GCP infrastructure tools and experience with cloud infrastructure management and automation technologies (Chef, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation) and interfacing programmatically through APIs.
Require hands on experience of providing production support for large-scale distributed systems. Desirable experience in working with Microservices architectures running on Kubernetes and containers.
Hands-on experience on Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment-Development and build tools like Jenkins along with version control systems like Git/SVN and collaboration systems like Jira/Confluence/Slack.
Experience in managing Devops tools on Repository, Monitoring, Log Analysis etc.
Good understanding of Software Applications, Networking and Open source tools and service discovery systems.
Configure and manage data sources like MySQL, Mongo, Elasticsearch, Redis, etc
Working knowledge in Security and Vulnerability detections with mitigations.
Good knowledge on Security, Audits and compliance requirements.
Desirable understanding of network protocols and theory (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, and load balancing, etc.)
Manage and Monitor our Automation systems and Cloud deployments & configuration.
Troubleshoot and triage Build, Deployment, Staging and Production issues.
Should thoroughly understand SDLC and implement automation tools and framework for Build Automations, Optimizations and modules for CI/CD pipelines.
Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with the development team to streamline code deployment.
Self-motivated and self-driven. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
