Key Responsibilities
Engineering Delivery:
A. Overall accountable to deliver features/user stories specific to IT (API, MOVE Portal, KYC Portals, Hadoop Mediation, reporting) and VAZ sub systems. Collectively called as App1.
B. Resource allocation and management for Move Combined releases. (monthly) and effective utilisation of resources across projects
C. Maintain and manage Vendor relationship (TCS and others) and closely monitor the work progress. Vendor SOW reviews/approvals, provide resource forecasting, vendor resource selection are some of the responsibilities this role demands
D. skill management, cross training within the team to build core capabilities for App1. Identify future technology requirements and plan for any skill gaps
E. Issue resolution, participate in delivery governance forums, collborate with delivery excellence team to rollout processes as well as measure effectiveness
F. Responsibility includes managing the underlying infrastructure for the App1. identify upgrade requirements, End of service /End of Life hardware or software and plan for migration
G. From time to time, identify best practices and implement them as part of continuous improvement initiatives
Program Management:
A. Responsible for managing the Engineering Scrum Master (ESM) team. Overall accountability to drive end to end project management for all projects within Engineering scope.
B. Responsible for resolving issues with cross-functional teams, other subsystems within engg, and guide the ESM team to adopt best practices in the project management area
C. Track progress and review all ESM projects in a regular interval to ensure the projects are on track and highlight any issues to product team and for management intervention
D. Accountable to follow the project lifecycle processes (from Initiation to project closure) and arrange retrospective sessions to continuously improve
E. Govern the change management process throughout the project life cycle and report schedule variance/cost variance to Engg. and product leadership.
F. Follow escalation management as laid out by Engg leadership and bring the issues to surface for timely resolution
G. Accountable for weekly or biweekly reporting on critical projects to Engg. Leadership
Key Responsibilities Continue…
Budgeting, Planning & Procurement:
A. Responsible for preparing, maintaining and monitoring Annual operating plan (AOP) for both capex and opex spends
B. Collborate within Engineering teams to identify the AMC contracts with suppliers and optimize the AMC costs year on year.
C. Actively engage with Finance team to explain the business requirements and get necessary aporovals for capex/opex spends
D. Interact with Supply chain teams to optimize vendor costs, negotiations with partners, follow ups for adhere to procurement processes
E. work with common engg team and other teams to prepare the inventory of equipments and govern the supplier contracts for those equipments
F. proactively identify areas for software upgrades, AMC renewals, infra refresh in order to plan the projects well in advance
G. Process supplier payments in the timely manner and engage with suppliers for AMC renewals well in advance (atleast 1 year earlier)
IT Operations Support (L2&L3):
A. Lead the IT ops function for App1 (specifically for L2 & L3 support) in alignment with the MOVE Ops teams
B. Focus on the platform stability and rollout new initiatives to continously improve the platform up time
C. Proactive identification of issues and resolve in timely manner to avoid service disruption
D. Drive root cause for all major issues/incidents and provide permanent fixes without impacting the services to customers
E. Collaborate with wider cross functional teams to identify the issues and bring them under common Change advisory board process to minimize impacts
F. conduct monthly health checks along with the Engg subsystem owners to proactively identify bottlenecks and plan for addressing them
Cross-functional team collaboration:
A. Collaborate within Enginering team for estimations, dependency management, risk mitigations B. work closely with product to identify early view of the requirements and plan the MCR delivery timelines
C. liaise with MoVE Ops team to improve the platform stability through various initiatives
Team Development:
Regularly review team structure and assess talent requirements; participate in the recruitment and selection process; conduct goal setting and performance review for the team; drive team development, engagement and reward initiatives; coach and mentor team members as required and ensure resolution of any people issues.
Experience & Qualification Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Experience level – 25 years
