The Role Responsibilities
Key Roles & Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Engineering resource are
Resolve technical issues,
Ensure that all parts of the technical design are correctly incorporated
Provide technical support and technical quality control throughout all stages of the project and to synchronize retailer services linked to the selection and implementation of necessary technology.
Serve as the link between the application architect, project manager, data architect and network specialist and application engineers.
The technology architect should be able to perform the actions and tasks for which they are responsible, to apply the techniques needed to complete the responsibilities of this job and to use the tools required by these activities.
In addition, the architect role requires a high level of leadership skills.
Technical / Domain Knowledge
Deep understanding of the macOS / Mac OS X hardware platform
Deep technical knowledge of the Mac Operating Systems (multiple versions)
Command of the OSX application development environment
Familiarity with management controls of OS X
In-Depth understanding of Mac OS management platforms with specialisation in one or more of
JAMF (Preferred), Airwatch, Apple Business Manager, DEP, O365 Apps,
Experience in deploying Mac OS X / macOS builds in medium and large environments
Experience in Device Enrolment and lifecycle management of Apple hardware
Ability to handle critical and escalated incidents
Proven ability in global vendor coordination for device management solutions
Familiarity with virtualisation tools will be an added advantage
Familiarity with Xcode, Android Studio is a plus
Experience in deploying and managing device security policies is required
Prior experience in Microsoft AD integration / authentication for macOS clients is desirable
Implementation of Data Loss Prevention solutions in Mac environments is required
Implementation of end point protection solutions in Mac environments is required

Gain a deep understanding of business objectives and priorities
Processes
Ensure that Mac Management Operations complies with the Technology Operations processes within the Operations Risk Framework. These include, Incident Management, Infrastructure Operations, IT Service Continuity Management, Asset Management and Operations Monitoring
People and Talent
Strong documentation and written communication skills are essential. This is a critical skill as a large part of the role involves developing high quality documentation.
Graduate or Postgraduate with 12+ years of project experience
Must have an advanced understanding of IT infrastructure and enterprise architectures
Strong understanding of software engineering principles
Knowledge of software and technology infrastructure, industry trends and emerging technologies,
Experienced in developing enterprise level software and infrastructure solutions. The responsibility of technology architect is to drive all technological feature of the stream to combine present and future architecture, to propose practical strategies and present originality with the help of technology.
Technology architects will oversee tracking the company application portfolio and assists project teams to shape architectures consistent with platforms, roadmaps and standards for architect and design.
Collaborate with other consultants, businessmen and with other professionals, such as dedicated technicians and business strategists and should respond to customer questions and offer technical solutions
Good working knowledge of Networking and security (ability to interact with Network teams)
University degree preferred but not essential
Financial Services experience preferred but not essential
Good presentation skills, ability to present designs and whiteboard ideas.
Self-starter, able to self-manage with strong collaboration skills and able to interact effectively with others
Willing to continuously update personal IT skills and knowledge
Capacity to gain a thorough knowledge of the relevant specialty area
Act as a technical escalation and engage vendors as appropriate
Ability to work in a matrixed and collaborative environment
Some after-hours/weekend support will be required
Risk Management
Contribute towards identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, have an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them
The ability to interpret the Group’s Financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment within Mac Engineering
