The team you will be a part of
The Quality Generalist team conducts internal quality controls concerning particular areas or company products to ensure they fulfill given quality procedures and norms. Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms. Preparing quality analyses and recommends necessary quality procedure changes.
This Role In Summary
Day to day Quality issues addressing Mechanical parts with the suppliers.
Apply problem solving techniques and address the resolution of the issues with suppliers (8D)
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Day to day Quality issues address at Plant and work with suppliers for improvement actions
Analysis of the quality performance and capability of Suppliers , Drive 8D & support line continuity
Visit suppliers to perform process characterization and 8D Action effectiveness
Champion Critical Parameters Management (CPM) with suppliers identified in your commodity space.
Conduct Process Audits, Process Characterization and Run@Rate at the supplier’s facility.
Drive Quality improvement with suppliers through the use of structured tools like 8D s, DDDW, Six Sigma and Lean principles.
Manage information on supplier’s quality performance metrics in the field & at Whirlpool’s manufacturing divisions (SIR, PPM, CAL).
Use that information to support FSD, the definition of the commodity quality strategy and the education of process partners on supplier’s quality performance.
Drive a quality culture aligned to Zero Defect with suppliers and process partners of the commodity space.
Handline day to day line and incoming quality issues , coordination with supplier and incoming quality mfg team
Definition of actions to enhance supplier’s performance.
Discussing quality strategy for commodity space with the CM & Engineering leads involved on the development of the technology and suppliers roadmap
To review supplier’s progress on the qualification of new parts using APQP / FMEA / MSA / SPC / PPAP and Run@Rate
Critical quality issues impacting product performance in the field or at one of Whirlpool’s manufacturing divisions
Apply problem solving techniques and address the resolution of the issues with suppliers (8D)
Assessment of supplier’s capability and qualification levels
Definition of plans to develop suppliers in the needed areas.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
Mechanical (Full-time)
Experience/ Preferred Industry
3-5 yrs
Preferred Skills And Experiences
Preferably in the Consumer / home appliance /Automotive industry. MNC background preferred.
