The Role: Senior Software Python Developer

The Impact: This role is essential for the Market Intelligence Group of S&P as it ensures the development of new software solutions around AI and ML technology. Role will enable our Internal customers with a seamless user experience and access to up-to-date tools based on AI technology.

Responsibilities:

• Participate as part of a project team and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, code, test and implement programs and solutions.
• Work as a developer with strong hands-on development for entire software development lifecycle
• Build tools and frameworks with quality code to improve internal productivity
• Work collaboratively with product owners, technology partners to understand and clarify requirements
• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Use established testing procedures to ensure application is thoroughly tested throughout development and before release
• Work as part of an agile team to identify and deliver solutions to prioritized requirements
• Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies
• Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in software development with good understanding of testing, coding, and debugging procedures
• 5+ years of relevant experience in Programming using Python
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design, Data Structures, Multithreading and Design Patterns is desired
• TDD experience is desired
• Proficient with SDLC methodologies and Agile and DevOps principles
• Experience with pandas and NumPy libraries.
• Create and optimize prompts that elicit desired responses from AI language models, taking into consideration various use cases and user requirements.
• Work closely with Open AI and Gen AI APIs to integrate their capabilities into our AI solutions.
• Experience with natural language processing (NLP) is a plus.
• Knowledge of JavaScript and the AngularJS framework is a plus
• Good to have Jenkins, ansible, git hub
• Good to have experience in API development using Fast API.
• Good to have knowledge of SQL Database, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
• Experience working with Docker, containerization, big data platforms like Spark/Hadoop, AWS will be a plus
• Excellent writing and communications skills
