The Role: FP&A Financial Analyst

The Team: We are a leading provider of market share, customer loyalty and sales and production forecasting data to the auto industry, with strong relationships with all the largest auto manufacturers and suppliers globally. The Automotive Insights FP&A team provides information, insights, and decision support to internal business partners to optimize financial performance, improve decision making and drive growth of the Automotive business. This role will to the FP&A Director in Automotive Insights who has a raft of experience in financial analysis, close business partnering and coaching others.
The Impact: This role will support a variety of cost analysis activities, under the guidance of the FP&A Director and through direct interactions with business expense owners, to help give the business a clear picture of financial performance. There is potential for a driven candidate to expand this role within Automotive Insights and to support the wider Mobility Finance Team with other adhoc analysis and projects.

Responsibilities:
Ownership and responsibility for various aspects of the month-end close process including but not limited to proposing corrections for accounting during month end close, accrual entries, etc. This requires close partnership with accounting colleagues to understand expense entries.
Pro-active review of these cost areas on a monthly basis; flag early any changes we should be making to the forecast based on actual results.
Detailed review and understanding of the expenses and business drivers, ensuring that costs are coded accurately, and we can provide insightful, action-oriented commentary on actuals and forecasts.
Pro-active management of Automotive Insights hiring budget, a critical and highly visible cost area for the business. This will include the approval process for new open roles, attention to detail for correct cost coding, working closely with hiring managers and senior management to ensure accurate recording and reconciling forecast data to ensure accurate headcount forecasting for the business.
Support the team to provide insightful headcount ing and variance analysis as required.
Drive improvements and efficiency in our headcount forecasting process, working closely with our Anaplan team to leverage the most value from the forecasting tool.
Prepare a variety of s on financials each month to ensure clear communication of results to key business stakeholder that provide insightful financial analysis, interpretations, and predictions.
Pro-active management of travel and entertainment budget, ensuring accurate coding for investment initiatives and providing monthly ing to senior leaders to ensure the travel budget is managed effectively.
Identify areas and build new analysis that help the business owners better understand underlying financial performance.
Develop and maintain effective relationships across the business to understand the business, the primary drivers, goals, and the needs of partners and internal customers.
Support the Automotive Insights Team and Mobility team on adhoc analysis and projects.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math or related field. MBA and/or CPA with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP is preferred.
4+ years’ work experience in Financial Analysis, Operations, and/or Accounting in a large, complex organization.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to tailor messaging to the intended audience and communicate accounting concepts effectively.
Good collaborative ethos and experience of building working relationships with internal stakeholders and across Finance teams e.g. supply management, accounts payable, accounting and corporate ing teams.
Demonstrated investigative research and analytical capabilities necessary to provide the leadership team with the accurate and insightful interpretation of financial information.
Highly proficient skills in MS Excel (Pivot tables, V-Lookups, IF functions, etc.) and PowerPoint.
Proficiency with Oracle Financials or other similar financial systems. Anaplan and Oracle Smartview strongly preferred.
Pro-active and organized individual that is able to prioritize and manage deadlines.
