As the L&D Manager for APJ, you will be responsible for managing, developing and delivering first-class learning and development activities for your region. In addition to the priorities identified in the annual plan, you will work closely with the HR and regional leadership teams to identify needs, define requirements and develop solutions, utilizing the latest learning and development approaches, including the use of profiling tools, to help develop talent and drive business success.
Provide input to and execute upon the priorities and programs outlined in the annual plan, identifying clear learning objectives and business benefits for each area.
Engage with the HR and regional leadership teams to identify and agree on core development needs across each group and work with the wider L&D team and local external providers as required, to develop and deliver impactful solutions.
Work with local and regional leaders to help develop the capability of their co-located and remote teams through the use of industry recognized profiling tools (such as MBTI®, DiSC®, Belbin®Team Roles, Strength Development Inventory (SDI) etc.) and design constructive, team-based activities to help drive business results.
Review and promote opportunities for experiential learning, e-learning and self-directed learning.
Develop and manage content for our Learning Management System (LMS), working closely with the LMS administrator.
Deliver the existing portfolio of Sophos leadership and personal development training programs and workshops, in line with the annual plan, with the support of internal and external resource as required.
Support the annual performance review process, providing support and training for managers and individuals as required.
Work closely with the local Sales Enablement Training Manager to maximise resource and minimise duplication.
Organise and manage local course bookings and attendance. Ensure no “drop-outs” result from poor administration.
Ensure that all training materials are produced to a professional standard and comply with Company standards.
Ensure that all internal and external training activities meet the legal and ethical obligations of the Company.
Required to work with complete confidentiality.
Requires travel to Sophos locations across APJ (c30% of time).
Requires occasional international travel
Aligns with regional L&D Managers in the Americas and EMEA
Works closely with all members of the HR Team.
Works closely with and provides guidance to the local and regional leadership teams on training matters.
Reports to the Senior Director of Learning and Development.
Skills & Experience
Design and delivery of personal and management development (soft skills) training activities – for both classroom based and virtual delivery
Administration of personality and team profiling tools, such as MBTI®, DiSC®, Belbin®Team Roles, Strength Development Inventory (SDI) etc.
Working for a multinational organization.
Working with managers at all levels to develop individual and team capability to drive business results.
Learning-outcomes focused training design and delivery
Administering personality and team profiling tools
Design and production of training material
Meeting deadlines and commitments
Planning and organising
5 x GCSEs at grade C (or equivalent)
Certified to administer one or more of: MBTI®, DiSC®, Belbin®Team Roles, Strength Development Inventory (SDI) or similar personality/team profiling tools
Certificate in Training Practice or equivalent
Train the Trainer
Willingness to travel
Compliance with all relevant legislation
Implementing and managing Learning Management Systems
Development of e-learning content
Supporting performance management reviews and systems
Measuring performance of training initiatives and ROI
Further education in business subject
