Role Purpose

HSBC Private Banking is embracing the cloud, Agile and DevOps practices into our way of working, we are seeking to infuse additional digital talent into the team and this role is a crucial enabler to successful execution of our digital strategy .

The Digital Architecture team is at the core of HSBC digital transformation and is producing the vision and roadmaps to create the HSBC global digital platform. The team work closely with the heads of digital engineering, delivery, solution designers and product owners to provide technology strategies and customer focused solutions across digital channels

Within Private Banking, we are moving at pace and the demands on the architecture are increasing. The Digital Solution Architect will combine deep experience of architecting and delivering customer centric platforms and solutions with personal skills and credibility to lead some of the best technical teams in product delivery. The Digital Solution Architect will take accountability for ensuring that the end-to-end digital solutions we create for our clients fulfil their expectations of high quality and cost-effectiveness.

We are looking for a Solution Architect that can help further the success of our Digital Security solution and customer experience. We are seeking individuals who seek the opportunity to solve real problems for our users, adds real value and provides relevant services and insights.

You will need to understand our technology at deep level and you can interact with the development teams to lead the architecture and solution design for our delivery requirements.

Day to day you will be analysing requirements for new features, mentoring junior team members, working with the developers and products owners through the product lifecycle. There is a huge amount of opportunity to get involved in multiple levels of interest across the development lifecycle

In this role you will be responsible for;

Providing innovative and practical designs that account for the end to end solution of a function that is in line with the business objectives

Communicating short, medium and long term architecture in a business context to ensure relevant and addressing the business need

Working closely with analysts and tech leads to elaborate requirements

Proactive collaboration in the project team to help develop the product using your experience to help guide the team through the whole development lifecycle

Supporting strategic architectural direction and demonstrating adherence to enterprise architecture

Ensuring governance requirements are captured, and audit requirements met. Demonstrating adherence to controls

Refactoring and continuous improvements of the code and processes is vital

Ensuring that technical decisions and information is communicated through the global team

Ensuring that risks are identified and mitigated or acknowledged as part of the agile development lifecycle

Contributing to the ongoing support of the digital apps and ecosystem

Keen to collaborate with others, and youll give thought about how software fits into the bigger picture

Be able to demonstrate you can work with a distributed team of Architects

Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications:

Experience working in relevant environment/s and role i.e. Solutions architect in digital technologies, specifically application security and authorisation related.

Technical and business stakeholder management from developers to executive management

Experience of being accountable for significant architectural decisions and provide justification for decisions taken

Experience in development and utilisation of more junior team members, being responsible for the career development and performance of team members

Solid awareness of cross-browser/device responsive development

Knowledge of implementation considerations for UI technologies including jQuery, Websphere, React

Strong experience of security and authorisation solutions Transmit, Forgerock, ASDS or equivalents

Possess strong technical knowledge in various security technologies (covering from endpoints, network, Web server, application server, database server, load balancer, Web Application Firewall, Intrusion Detection/Prevention System and authentication services

Familiar with security vulnerabilities, identification and exploitation

Security Vendor Accreditations will be advantageous. Independent and relevant certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, CEH) are advantageous Experience of API and service based architectures using SOAP, REST APIs, micro-services and utilising JSON for web or mobile applications

CI/CD – tools such as Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, Git, GitHub, SonarQube

PaaS/IaaS OpenShift, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure & Cloudbees

DevOps processes and experience

Strong understanding of lean and agile methods of software delivery and the principles and practices of BDD, ATDD and TDD
