Job Summary
Oversees, directs and coordinates the panning, organizing, training and leadership of the restaurant staff necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation
Adheres to the Food Service and Safety rules and regulations as per Restaurant policy, State and Government Laws and Municipal regulations
Activities & Responsibilities
Ensure that all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications and guide lines are followed
Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times
Ensure that food and beverage products are prepared consistently and served to the restaurants recipe, portioning, cooking and serving standards
Archive company objectives in sales, service quality, guest satisfaction, appearance of facility ad cleanliness through training, leading by example and checking
Perform financial activities, such as cash handling, deposit preparation, purchase expenses
Compile and balance cash receives and sales report at the end of the service
Ensure that all products received are as per restaurant quality standards and in correct unit count
Control and supervise monthly inventory of food, beverages, alcohol, equipment, glassware, tableware, and cutlery and report any shortages
Control and supervise daily inventory of food, beverages and alcohol and check prepared orders before placing them
Attended to the phone, take reservations, home delivery orders and to go orders
Prepare staff schedule on a weekly basis in accordance with business forecasts to ensure service standards are meet
Prepare required paper work, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner
Observe (and correct if required) employees and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service standards are meet
Fully understand and comply with the state and municipal rules and regulations that pertrain to the Restaurant operation
Supervise and participate in the kitchen and dining room cleaning activities
Greet guest promptly when entering the Restaurant and escort them to an assigned table or to the designated waiting area it they cannot be seated immediately
Recognize and learn the names of regular guests
Present menu cards to guest once seated at the table or whilst waiting to be seated
Inform guests about menu changes and daily specials and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guest will enjoy
Take food and beverage orders & train the F& B associates on the same and repeat the order carefully to the guest to confirm the orders
Place food and beverage orders into the computer system including special requirements and notes, hand the order tickets to the respective sections in the kitchen and bar
Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with their food and beverages choices and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems
Check the bill before presenting it to the guest to ensure it is correct
Enquire about the guests dining experience at the end of the meal and present the guest comment book to them
Present bill to guest and collect the payment either by card or cash
Thank the guest as they leave the restaurant
Actively participates in the weekly scheduled deep cleaning of the restaurant and beverage / guest supply storage areas
Coordinate and assist fellow employees to meet guest needs and support the operation of the restaurant
Fill in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operation
Hold daily staff briefings for restaurant and kitchen employees
