An exciting opportunity has become available to join our front office team, as a Reservations Agent, part-time.
A day in the life
As a Reservations Agent, you will play a key role and be responsible for handling all reservations for guests, groups and conference bookings. In this busy role, you will build and maintain guest relationships by responding to and anticipating their needs. You will be motivated and hardworking with a “can do attitude” which will see you thrive in the role.
Your key responsibilities will be to enter booking information, handle enquiries, complete pre-arrival checks, follow up late arrivals or cancellations, general revenue through upselling, repeat business and promoting inhouse services & amenities, communicate with internal stakeholders, and support the business with planning.
The successful candidate must possess excellent administrative and organisational skills, computer literacy and the ability to deliver superior quality customer service. Knowledge of Opera is highly desirable, in addition to your prior experience gained in a hospitality environment.
Your ability to work effectively unsupervised and possess an understanding of sales and problem-solving techniques are essential to this role.
We’re looking for…
Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience in a reservations role or similar within a 4-5 star hotel environment
PMS experience, ideally Opera knowledge would be an advantage
A desire to deliver a high level of customer service
Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner
Excellent administration, organisational and attention to details skills
Active listening and problem solving skills
Flexible, team player and work well under pressure
Flexibility to work days, nights and weekends on a rotating roster
