You are responsible for
As a Software Operations Engineer in the Connected Care Software Innovation team you will:
Ensure that SW Innovation has an impact on our E2E Customer experience
Co-define and lead the strategy for continuous maturity of SW excellence and also the relevant measurement system, in strong partnership with Businesses, architecture office, health suite platforms and other excellence teams
Implement industry best practice and partner to accelerate the excellence strategies
Lead a niche team of domain experts in various competency areas such as DevOps, code quality, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery and test automation. The areas of competence needs continuous improvement depending on the maturity of the software excellence journey across Philips;
Work alongside with the Philips businesses to create improvement plans, with clear focus on customer and business outcomes on an on-going basis;
Co-lead the capability improvement programs along with other CoEs to improve the overall SW competencies of various leadership levels at Philips. Also provide coaching and training on specific domain areas; create a cook-books for each competency – how to become better and what it means to be world-class;
Standardize Software KPI’s and drive improvements according to defined targets.
Representing Philips externally, promoting the company to be seen as a software leader.

You will be part of the Software Innovation core team, reporting to the Head of Software Operations globally.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor’s Degree and experience in leading teams in software industry companies;
Expert level technical knowledge in a broad range of software development practices;
Hands on experience in various technologies and proven track record of working in various technology domains with various technologies;
Demonstrated ability to drive technical change and progressive improvement on a large scale;
Demonstrated experience leading and influencing software development teams in a global, multi-location matrixed organization utilizing agile framework;
Excellent communication skills and proven track record of developing high-trust relationships with key customers, including during times of customer escalations;
Experience working in a fast-paced startup /new ventures type environment is a plus.
Job knowledge, skills & experience
5+ years of international Software Leadership experience and software craftmanship expertise
Expert and thought leaders in software development and development practices and processes, such as Agile, DevOps, Innersource and cloud platforms development
Experience within a regulated business and with Software and devices/systems/solutions is preferred
Experience in driving organizational change, integrations and transformations in a complex international environment
Enterprise leader with collaborative mindset and the ability to build bridges and overcome resistance
Bachelor’s in Software Engineering with excellent track record.
Key areas of responsibilities (Fellow Software Engineer)
Drive the strategy for SW excellence inline with the company’s aspiration to be the digital solutions leader.
Co-lead the translation of the SW excellence strategy to execution steps and ensure predictable execution along with the team in partnership with the businesses
Drive right organizational design & blue print and ensure effective deployment
Along with the business, enable creation of high quality working software and the right measurement system focused on outcomes
Enabling continuous value for software capability development for all levels including the Philips leadership (PLT, Business leaders, Innovation Leaders, R&D Leaders) architects & SW community, along with strong partnership with CAO, HSP, PIC and other CoEs.
Keeps abreast of technical knowledge by studying and implementing state-of-the-art programming techniques and development tools, participating in educational opportunities, participating in communities of practice, reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks
Provides technical solutions that conform to requirements with a strong focus on end-users, high quality (QMS/regulatory standards), performance, safety and security.
Lead DevOps in deploying software
Sets, monitors and ensures to meet own performance metrics
Defines, monitors and meets performance and quality metrics
Drive Feature driven development in an agile approach
Actively participates in sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives and backlog refinement. Contributes to continuous improvement of the team, software and processes
