Job Description

System Management

Install configure and maintain Windows servers and systems

Perform regular system updates patches and upgrades to maintain security and efficiency

Monitor system performance identify issues and troubleshoot problems to ensure uptime and stability

2 User and Access Management

Manage Active Directory including user accounts groups policies and permissions

Configure and manage Group Policy Objects GPOs to enforce security and access policies across the network

3 Network and Security

Implement security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities

Manage firewall settings antivirus software and other security tools to safeguard systems

Set up and manage VPNs DNS DHCP and other networking services

4 Backup and Recovery

Develop and maintain backup procedures for critical data and systems

Test disaster recovery plans and ensure data integrity through regular audits

5 Performance Optimization

Analyze system performance data and make recommendations for improvements

Troubleshoot network and system bottlenecks and optimize for better efficiency

6 Automation and Scripting

Create and maintain scripts eg PowerShell to automate routine tasks streamline operations and improve system management

Use automation tools for provisioning and managing Windows environments

7 Documentation and ing

Document system configurations processes and troubleshooting steps

Generate s on system performance usage and security metrics for management

8 Support and Maintenance

Provide technical support for issues escalated from helpdesk teams

Collaborate with IT teams to resolve complex issues and implement new solutions

Maintain hardware and software inventory and track licenses

9 Compliance and Best Practices

Ensure systems comply with organizational policies industry standards and regulations

Stay updated with the latest Windows Server technologies best practices and security protocols

Qualifications

Education Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field

Certifications Microsoft Certified Windows Server Administrator preferred CompTIA Security or similar certifications

Experience 35 years of experience managing Windows servers in a corporate environment

Skills

Proficiency with Windows Server versions 2016 2019 2022 and Windows operating systems

Strong knowledge of Active Directory Group Policy and PowerShell scripting

Experience with virtualization technologies eg VMware HyperV

Understanding of networking protocols TCPIP DNS DHCP and security practices

Key Competencies

Strong problemsolving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring system stability and security
