Your Career
Palo Alto Networks NGFW (Next Generation Firewall) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished test / Automation engineer with experience in validating core networking & security features in the test engineering team. You will be part of a world-class software test engineering team that works on qualifying various ground-breaking security (On-Prem and Cloud) technologies / use cases. You will work with a multi- functional team of engineers solving interesting problems in the area of L2-7 / Cloud security.

Your Impact
Expected to lead and participate in all phases of the product development cycle, from definition, design, through implementation, test and field deployments
Responsible for test strategy of Palo Alto Networks’ next-generation firewall
Develop processes, tools and infrastructure to improve the quality and efficiency of testing
Work closely with the Software Engineering, Product Management teams during product development from design to release
Reproduce and debug complex issues found during and after software releases
Interface with field facing teams (TAC, Escalations and SEs) to improve customer experience
Qualifications
Your Experience
Required Skills:
10 + years of relevant experience with a BS OR MS degree in Network and Security domain with Test Engineering experience in platforms, infrastructure and systems area
Career level experience in Test Engineering / Test Lead position
Experience qualifying network security products and solutions, preferably with firewalls and intrusion prevention
Mentor Jr. Team members
Knowledge of encryption and tunneling protocol test methods
L3 network testing experience with knowledge of most common switching and routing protocols- Knowledge of L4-L7 network layers
Experience in networking equipment (routers and switches) and usage of test tools (ixia/spirent etc)
Familiarity with Python (or other similar) Scripting and/or automation
Preferred Skills:
Experience with open source test and Network traffic generating tools and good to have experience with typical test tools from Spirent, Breaking Point, and Ixia
Experience setting testbeds in a Virtualization environment is desirable
Exposure to Cloud Technologies (AWS,GCP,Azure or any other cloud)
