Within OCI, Enterprise Platforms & Services team’s one of the goals is to improve employee experience and employee productivity through seamless employee services by enabling advanced data analytics, AI/ML-based capabilities like conversational AI, self-serve tooling, etc.
We are seeking a seasoned data scientist who will be responsible for distilling user data insights for ML science applications and influence business decision with data-driven approach to improve customer experience, and team productivity. A successful candidate will be a person who enjoys diving deep into data, doing analysis, discovering root causes, and designing long-term solutions. We are building the systems from the ground up, so you will have an opportunity to design, implement systems end to end by helping select the right technologies, and envisioning a long-term architecture is part of the role. Finally, this being a new team, you’ll have lots of opportunities to help us build & grow the team via mentoring, hiring & training. Responsibilities:
Translate business needs into advanced analytics and machine learning models and provide strong algorithm and coding execution and delivery of Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence.
Develop analysis, modeling, and optimization methods to improve the embedded AI capabilities.
Solve difficult, non-routine problems on sparse incomplete data sets or large data sets applying advanced ML methods as needed.
Lead / Nurture a Data Science Project along its lifecycle from inception, data gathering and requirements specification, value analysis, feasibility checks, implementation, testing, deployment and monitoring.
Implement data science pipelines and applications in a general programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java, or Spark
Communicate effectively to multiple stakeholders on value and insights from data
Make Recommendations and influence the Data Science roadmap for our platforms & services to constantly improve Customer experience.
Mentor other Data Scientists and help them to develop their projects related to experimentation and evaluation.
Craft a measurement strategy to evaluate the performance of complex systems against challenging requirements
Develop robust methods for model monitoring in production and learning from feedback .
Key Qualifications:
Sound foundations in Computer Science, Probability and Statistics
12+ years of industry experience and 6+ years of experience in predictive modelling, data science and analysis
Experience with Python, R, Scala, SQL and one of the advanced Deep Learning, RL or AI libs l
Experience in Machine Learning, Natural Language Understanding, Data and feature Engineering, data ETL and Machine learning pipelines and ML deployment.
Practical expertise and in-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, reinforcement learning and algorithmic foundations of optimization and data mining.
Programming experience in Python, R or C / C++.
Working knowledge of relational databases, including SQL, and large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop and Spark
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills, and the ability to explain difficult technical topics to multiple stakeholders from data scientists, engineers to business partners and leaders.
Self-starter with strong leadership abilities.
Ability to work with incomplete requirements and handle multiple projects with deadlines .
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
