As an Architect/Senior Principal Engineer, the candidate would understand the business requirements, abstract the requirements, and generate generic product requirements that would be applicable for a broader marker, and design a configurable, extensible, scalable, performant, robust solution.
The person will be responsible for providing technical solutions to evolve existing applications, designing the architecture for new applications per both functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring the designed solutions are workable by coding or piloting in key modules, and being agile and innovative to solve business problems. This position is also expected to design and facilitate the development of future state architecture and ensure appropriate adoption across project teams. In this role the candidate is expected to provide technical leadership to other software developers including mentoring, code reviews, presentations etc . Individuals in this role will work on multiple highly complex projects and require in depth technical knowledge of two or more cloud architecture approach and have mastery over multiple cloud technology stack. In this role, the candidate will be expected to work on multiple projects and be able to lead, consult or overseeing engagements across the product teams .
Positions in this function would be responsible for delivering professional level technical work in support of the development of company products, tools, platforms and services. The person would need to operate within established methodologies, procedures, and guidelines and apply knowledge of principles and techniques to solve technical problems. It would be important to work closely with other functions to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps. Work is self-directed and not prescribed. Work involves understanding the customer’s business challenges and coming up with quick prototypes to solve the problem with enhanced features and process flows while including advanced technology components.
The candidate must be experienced in various architecture patterns, have participated in the full Software Development Life Cycle (requirements, Design, Development, Deployment, and Support), Be Able to Communicate Solution Requirements and Architecture with Technical and Non-technical Stakeholders, and Possess a Working Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies. This role also requires outstanding communications skills.
Qualifications
12+ years of experience in designing and developing scalable, cloud applications
BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Strong grasp of Computer Science concepts (data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms)
Minimum of 10 years of hands on programming experience in Java/Java EE, including experience in web applications, web services, REST, micro services with Spring Boot
UI application development using OracleJET/ KnockoutJS/RequireJS is a plus
Solid experience in HTML5, XHTML, Javascript, CSS3, Angular/JQuery/ReactJS, NodeJS, AJAX, Typescript, SQL and Oracle Database would be required
Experience with container orchestration like: Kubernetes/Docker
Hands-on experience in development tools like NetBeans, Eclipse, Toad/SQL Developer
Excellent software architecture, implementation, and problem solving skills – Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
Familiarity with standard professional software development processes including source code control, unit testing, and code reviews
Ability to work with others including developers, designers, product managers, technical writers, marketers, technical support personnel, and customers in a global, fast-paced environment. Promote and demonstrate teamwork and best industry practices
Ability to drive end-to-end architecture of a complex project considering various design options
Strong capability to architect highly scalable distributed systems that are event-driven, responsive, scalable and secure
In-depth expertise in delivering large programs and projects practicing Agile Project Management, Scrum Concepts. Certification in Agile is plus
Experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of various design patterns
Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshoot issues when they arise
Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)
Experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving performance issues in complex environments
Experience in working in fast paced environment. Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
Proved track record of providing technical leadership to other software developers including mentoring, code reviews, presentations etc.
Desirable: experience with Data science and machine learning knowledge would be helpful
Desirable: Architect level advanced certification in at least one of the leading cloud platforms / software architecture
Desirable: Mobile application development experience is a plus
