Position Summary
This position develops, nurtures and manages a technology practice for the delivery of offshore consulting engagements as part of Professional Services. Actively engages with the Theater Practice Managers and CoE Consulting Lead in planning and establishing service offerings that enable us to leverage the benefits of a global delivery model for our PS engagements. Drives the development and implementation of sales & delivery collateral and builds required competencies to ensure delivery readiness. Ensures quality, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction on PS engagements. Leads the identification and packaging of reusable artifacts that enable the practice to drive greater efficiencies in our service offerings. Key metrics for successful performance include utilization management, on-time and on-budget delivery of engagements and harvesting of assets.
Key Responsibilities
Establish Service Offerings & Ensure Capability Readiness
Develop sales and delivery collateral such as onsite-offshore work break down structures, estimation models, project plans, deliverable templates and reusable delivery artifacts for the targeted service offerings
Integrates industry and technical knowledge to collaborate with the services sales team to qualify opportunities, assist in proposal development and review the scope, estimates and resource plans
Engage with key stakeholders to understand and implement delivery processes, roles & responsibilities, standards, tools and quantitative measurement criteria to drive continuous improvement
Leverages customer experiences and technical expertise as input to develop and articulate solutions to the practice and the broader Services community.
Develop and execute training plans to ensure staff members have the required competencies to deliver the expected results
Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, counseling, and motivation to maximize business performance
Delivery Oversight of Consulting Engagements
Engage with the client facing Project Manager to clarify the scope, budget, engagement success criteria and plan staffing
Ensure that engagement success criteria and risk mitigation plans are clearly articulated to key stakeholders, monitored regularly and met
Develop communication plans and ensure effective collaboration with the globally distributed team
Participate in weekly project status calls with the Project Manager to track progress and acts as the 1st level of escalation on delivery matters
Monitor budget & staffing needs, ensure compliance with delivery processes & standards and present weekly RAG reports on delivery engagements to key stakeholders
Develops trusted relationships with services sales, Theater Practice Managers and project managers and leverages these relationships to solicit feedback and drive necessary improvements in service offering positioning, engagement model and overall delivery effectiveness
Builds and maintains relationships with Engineering and Support organizations to enable broader efficiencies in rapidly resolving issues as part of delivery engagements as well as providing feedback to these organizations on potential improvements in our products
Operations Planning & Reporting
Participate in weekly pipeline reviews, utilization tracking, staff planning and delivery quality assessments
Participate in quarterly forecasting, head count planning and management reporting
Drive hiring, retention, staffing and resource utilization
Competencies / Skills
Strong grasp of the principles of Enterprise Content Management systems in general & Documentum in particular and the value proposition it offers to customers
Broad technical knowledge of application and system architecture, enterprise integration methods, relational databases, and object oriented languages
Deep specialization in the technology areas related to the Practice
Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct a multi-disciplinary team of architects and consultants to achieve business targets
Strong people management skills including managing conflicts, motivation teams for improved performance, and guiding the career development of individuals
Outstanding skills in planning, problem solving and disciplined execution
Excellent communication skills and an ability to present complex technical topics in a manner business stakeholders can easily understand methods
Knowledge of Documentum is highly desired
Experience in financial planning and budgeting
Experience in the full SDLC lifecycle with extensive project management experience
PMP / ITIL / Six Sigma certification preferred
Experience
10+ years with minimum of 3 years in project leadership / management role
Education
University graduates in technical or management discipline
