You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of HR cases, including disciplinary, grievance, flexible working and absence

What you’ll do
As an HR Case Consultant, you’ll deliver effective coaching and support for the business to enable them to confidently deal with HR issues. You’ll be managing a portfolio of employee grievance, disciplinary and absence cases or employee health cases, advising and supporting people managers on related matters.
We’ll look to you to provide consistent advice on the interpretation and application of in scope policies, relevant employment law and taking into account any jurisdictional practices.
Additionally, you’ll be:
Leading or contributing to project activity to enhance our service
Using skilled and in-depth probing to make an assessment each situation and advise a realistic, business focused solution
Minimising risk to the business by ensuring a consistent approach to diagnosis of issues and the subsequent advice and actions
Managing allocated case portfolios in-line with targets in relation to health advisory and maintaining a communication flow with the business throughout the life of the case
Proactively contributing to and supporting ongoing continuous improvements across the Policy & Advice operation to enhance our ways of working and simplify it for the customer
The skills you’ll need
To be successful in this role, you’ll need a background in risk assessment and management, coupled with the ability to probe, evaluate and diagnose complex situations and provide practical solutions. We’ll expect you to have previous experience of working in a professional HR capacity, incorporating relationship management and coaching.
Crucially, you’ll have the ability to demonstrate excellent communication, influencing and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to adapt them where appropriate to minimise risk for the business.
Additionally, you’ll need:
A thorough working knowledge of HR policies and procedures and employment law interpretation
An excellent understanding of health and safety and reasonable adjustments and health benefit schemes
The ability to manage relationships with the appropriate third parties to make sure workplace adjustments are implemented efficiently and smoothly, and to manage health benefits cases
A background of working with stakeholders to improve the service proposition and improve business line manager capability
The ability to balance multiple and conflicting priorities
