Mott MacDonald Hiring for Transport & Logistics Expert Job at Tripura Full Time

Responsibilities:

In consultation with the national Team Leader/ Deputy Team Leader, the national Road & Stormwater Drainage Expert, the national Climate and Disaster Resilience
Expert, and other Sector Experts, the consultant will be responsible for and contribute to the planning and design of transport and logistics services under the project in conjunction with the recommendations and interventions proposed in existing study report(s). Tasks of the consultant

would be following, but not limited to:

• review existing information on state-/region-/sector-level vision, policy and industrial strategy and infrastructure plans, regional reports; and plan and design measures for workable solutions to have a reasonable and convenient commute for passenger/ freight movement
• (corridor-based or inter-city/ intra-city or within industrial nodes/ within industrial estates or
  
  areas);integration with aviation prospects and potentials for national and international movement from and to Agartala; towards hassle-free seamless movement of passenger/ goods traffic in Tripura;and recommend any changes/modifications for improvement, if
  
  required;
• provide planning and design inputs for ensuring seamless integration of transport, mobility, logistic, multi-modal integration aspects w.r.t. industrial development and trade facilitation, with the overall master planning requirements of cities in Tripura, and including use of innovation/ new technologies in transport (including logistics) sector;
• supervise undertaking of necessary engineering and demand surveys at the feasibility study/
  DPR stage for the prioritized subproject components for the integrated traffic and transportation infrastructure elements (motorized and/or non-motorized), including traffic impact analysis of any proposed surrounding greenfield or brownfield/ densification development projects; and recommend changes/modifications for improvement in roads capacity, road junctions/ intersection, streetscape elements with integrated stormwater drainage, etc., as required;
• undertake planning of integrated traffic and transportation infrastructure elements, such as
  roads/ streets[covering robust and safe roads/ streets and parking areas (considering outer access roads/ internal roads within industrial estates or areas, including non-processing areas) based on respective passenger- and freight-traffic/ load capacity movement], road junctions/ intersections, signalling system, bus stops/bus bays, landscape-/street-lighting, pedestrian paths/trails, integrated landscaping and traffic calming features, street signs and all pavement markings including bus box; integration with bridges/flyovers/foot-over-bridges/ primary drains/ culverts/ tunnel or underpass or subway/ separate or unified utility ducting, etc.; transport alternatives (motorized and/or non-motorized transport with horizontal and vertical element interfaces), including any potential for use of high occupancy
  
  vehicles, dedicated lanes for passenger/ goods traffic, etc., as felt required, both in and
  
  around industrial estates or areas and in non-processing areas;
• support in feasibility studies and review detailed engineering designs, engineering cost estimate and item-rate analysis, specifications and drawings of the same in the subprojects’ comprehensive DPRs and incorporate in bid documents (as applicable),
• assess traffic demand, and prepare an executable traffic management plan (TMP) during the design stage, and as a test-case execute it for any prioritized subprojects that involves integrated industrial/ urban sectors, for any learnings, and modify the TMP accordingly,

Preferably a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering/ Transport Planning or MBA in Logistics & Transport Management/ Supply Chain & Logistics or equivalent; over a basic degree of Bachelor’s from a recognized University in Civil Engineering/Architecture/ Architectural Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Preferably 12 years of general experience; and 10 years of specific experience as
Transport& Logistics Expert or Traffic Planner & Operations/ Logistics Manager or Supply Chain Analyst towards planning and design of integrated urban/ regional transportation and connectivity, focus on transport economy and policy analysis, and logistics and transport management-related infrastructure project components (requirements for containerization, warehousing/ storage, transit parking, other supporting facilities/ amenities, innovation/ use of technology for efficient logistical management, etc.) with proven credentials in integrated industrial/ transport/ urban sectors with national/ state/ city-level public transport authorities and/or public/ private sector logistics service providers/ transport industry for passenger/ freight movement. Work experience in planning and design, and implementation of external-aided/MDB

projects in integrated industrial/ transport/ urban sectors is desirable.
