DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Involves in IP rounds if required and explain the diets prescribed and ensure the right food reaches the patients.
· Provides nutrition care to high-risk women, infants and children under the guidance of Chief Nutritionist.
· Providing appropriate therapeutic & non-therapeutic diets to all patients.
· Involves in planning the In-patient cyclic menu along with the hospital Food and Beverage administration regularly.
· Report to the Chief Nutritionist / Facility director regarding the monthly audits and regular patient feedback.
· Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
· To conduct regular training programs for Food and Beverage Department and continuous Nutrition Education for the Junior staffs or Interns.
· Consult with physicians/Doctors and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient.
· Supervise the patient menu design and check F&B meal services to the In-patient
· Designing diet charts and counseling for Inpatients.
· Counseling for Health Check Ups / OPD patients and the planned diet chart to be copied and reviewed by the Chief Nutritionist through e-mail based on the protocols and guidelines provided by the Chief Nutritionist.
· All the Pediatric and Neonate practices shall be conducted by the Senior Nutritionist under the guidance of Chief Nutritionist.
· Monitoring the F&B processes i.e. safety, hygiene practices of Inpatients and reporting it to the Chief Nutritionist and Facility Director.
· Responsible for provision of clean, safe and healthy diet to patients in accordance with the hospital policies.
· Participate in the hospital marketing activities by giving health talks, educating the antenatal mothers and general population on diet and nutrition when assigned by the Chief Nutritionist.
· Ensures that the Juniors maintain records pertaining to the Nutrition Department such as patient data and prepares monthly report.
· Plans and updates the duty roster for the Department
· Maintains NABH standards, policies, protocols and manual related to the Nutrition Department under the guidance of Chief Nutritionist .
