Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation (NCR)MOHAN (an acronym for Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network) Foundation is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization established in 1997 in Chennai to promote cadaver (brain death) organ donations in the country in the light of growing incidence of end stage organ failure and contrasting shortage of organs. In 2002 the Foundation set up an office in Hyderabad and it now has offices in Bangalore, Chandigarh, Vizag and Coimbatore.-The objectives of MOHAN Foundation are:To Create public education programs on organ donation among a cross section of populationCreate hospital tie-ups and to motivate families of “brain dead’ patients to donate organsTrain professionals (transplant Coordinators) in facilitating organ donationLiaise with government to pass favourable legislationsNetwork with other organ procuring organizations in the countryThe Delhi-NCR office was started in March 2011. It is a small but growing office of the Foundation and the staff hired will have the opportunity to grow along with it.We are looking for a sincere and motivated candidate to apply for the position of Transplant Coordinator.Transplant Coordinator: Key Responsibilities –· He/she will be placed at a hospital that the Foundation has tied up with and will make daily ICU rounds and counsel families of “brain dead” patients to donate organs.· He/she will actively organise awareness talks both within and outside the hospital· He/she will get familiar with ‘The Human Organ Transplant Act 1994’ to ensure all legal compliances of organ donation· He/she will maintain records and report all activities carried out both within and outside the hospital· He/she will build and maintain relationships with hospitals and NGOs to spread the message of organ donation.Key skills and aptitude –Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in Hindi and EnglishGood presentation skillsGood Computer skills2-4 years of work experience preferably in an NGO or a hospital set-upGood interpersonal skills are a mustAn ability to work independentlyCandidate should be dynamic, honest and possess critical thinking ability.
