JOB TITLE: General Manager: Facilities and Hospitality
REPORTING TO: Head of School
COLLABORATES WITH: Head of School, Academic Principal, Director of Residential Life, Facilities Manager, Finance Director
SUPERVISES: Facilities Manager, Kitchen Staff, Medical Staff
This job is in-person in Amritsar, India
PURPOSE OF JOB:
We are seeking a professional and people-oriented manager with a background in the hospitality sector to oversee our campus operations. In this position, you will direct the day-to-day operations and activities on our campus. Your duties will include managing personnel, overseeing the different operational departments, monitoring budgets, and overall job performance and proper upkeep of the campus and general resources including machinery and vehicles. An individual with international experience will be given priority as it is crucial to be able to work within a multicultural framework.
To excel in this role, you must be approachable and detailed-oriented with proven hospitality or management work experience. Our ideal candidate will also demonstrate excellent organizational and management, and communication skills, and be familiar with basic computer software.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Responsibilities:
Key areas of responsibility of this role can be broadly defined as:
Overseeing operational personnel, including housekeeping staff, kitchen staff, drivers, gardeners and electricians.
Monitoring employee performance and conducting regular evaluations to help improve overall standards of service, and maintenance.
Collecting quotes for repairs and regularly scheduled maintenance and maintaining records of budgets, funds, and expenses.
Preparing campus for guests.
Setting and communicating policies.
Assigning and following-up on responsibilities assigned to employees to ensure productivity.
Coordinating with external parties, including suppliers, vendors, repairmen and conference planners.
Evaluating campus safety and ensuring compliance with health and safety rules.
Overseeing facilities budget.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in hospitality, business administration, or a relevant field.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in hotel management or a similar role.
Outstanding interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
Exceptional leadership abilities with great attention to detail.
Experience working in a diverse, international, multicultural environment and managing a complex workforce structure.
