As an SSD Reliability Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you are responsible for taking SSD’s from design to high volume manufacturing. This will involve product characterization, margin analysis, performance/power characterization, internal/external customer support, and manufacturing support. You will also be responsible for improving performance, improving testability, and identifying NAND/DRAM reliability issues. Other areas of responsibility include electrical and physical failure analysis, implementation of new device qualifications, characterization development, and yield evaluation/improvement. We will work together as a team which interfaces professional from various departments such as Technology Development, Firmware Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing and Applications Engineering . You will be responsible in the development, validation, characterization and qualification of MTX/NAND memory products which powers our customers’ innovation. You will innovate to resolve design, manufacturing, performance, yield, quality and reliability issues through simulation, volume data analysis and hands-on debug using automated engineering or production test equipment. We will also challenge you in resolving manufacturing line problems required to identify, diagnose and resolve process related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC methodology.
Your responsibilities and tasks will include, but not limited to:
Identify and manage material for sampling
Perform data analysis of reliability tests results and/or by conducting failure analysis
Close out evaluation and provide feedback to stakeholders
Manage and coordinate various inputs from various stakeholders in Quality Reliability
Collaborate with discrete component product quality and reliability team for product reliability evaluations/trials/plans
Collaborate with package quality and reliability team for package-related reliability evaluations/trials/plans
Guide, Consultation and Training
Communicate Globally with NAND, Firmware, BUs and Engineering Groups for priority management
Provide training to engineers and technicians within and outside of the group
Maintain knowledge base (lessons learned) within the group for each SSD market segment
Stay abreast of Quality and Reliability issues of Micron NAND components
Provide consultation for audits, RMA, and customer issues
Education:
Required: Masters’ Degree in Electrical / Electronics/ Computer Engineering
Experience:
5-10 years of experience in any of the following:
Managed NAND Product/Device engineering
Non-volatile Memory Product/Device engineering
Non-volatile Memory Process integration engineering
Quality/Reliability engineering in semiconductor area
Qualifications
Knowledge of Fab processes and a basic understanding of probe and parameter functions
Good understanding of semiconductor device physics will be an added advantage
Knowledge of 2D & 3D NAND in device physics, reliability & endurance statistics (Preferred)
Knowledge of various managed NAND protocol standards such as SATA, SAS, PCIe, or NVMe
Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong data collection skills preferred
Excellent multi-tasking skills with excellent project/time management and priority setting skills
