Project Overview:

Smaragd-IT@MBRDI – Smaragd is the “Product Data Management” application used for managing parts, geometries and product structures. Team at MBRDI is responsible for the development of various modules of the application and doing adaptations for cloud enablement wherever needed.

Job Responsibilities:
–

1. Requirement analysis and providing estimates

2. Low level design based on the requirement analysis

3. Development of the assigned tasks

4. Participation in Sprint ceremonies

• Development of high quality database solutions, using PostgreSQL Skills in Data Modeling for both OLTP & OLAP
• Discuss with business & technical stakeholders to understand requirements, and convert it into database specification
• Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using SQL & PL/pgSQL
• Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements
• Research required data
• Guide team on end-to-end database solutioning
• Be the first point of contact for all DB related issues
• Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
• Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
• Proven expertise in performance tuning such as indexes, partitions, clustering

– Familiar with pg extensions – pg_trgm, pg_crypto

• Familiar with different indexes – btree, gin, gist
• Familiar with JSON data format & in-built Postgres JSON/JSONB functions
• Ability to write a complex SQL, given a requirement
• Ability to understand & troubleshoot machine-generated SQL code
• Install/upgrade PostgreSQL
• Familiar with cross-database IDEs – Dbeaver, DBVisualizer, TOAD etc
• Familiar with PostgreSQL CLI – psql
• Familiar with database migrations using Flyway, Liquibase
• Familiar with code version control in GitHub
• Understanding of REST APIs will be an added advantage
