Position: Blood Bank Medical Officer

Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the blood bank, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and protocols.
• Perform blood typing, cross-matching, and antibody screening.
• Coordinate with medical and nursing staff to ensure safe and efficient blood transfusions.
• Conduct donor interviews, screenings, and collections following established procedures.
• Manage inventory and storage of blood products, ensuring proper handling and labeling.
• Provide guidance and training to staff members on blood bank procedures and protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance overall blood bank services.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• Medical degree with a valid license to practice as a Medical Officer.
• Specialization in Transfusion Medicine or a relevant field is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in a blood bank or transfusion service setting.
• Strong knowledge of blood banking procedures, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
