Who You’ll Work With
You will be based in McKinsey’s Client Capability hub in Gurgaon within Panorama Financial Institutions Center (PFIC).
PFIC is one of the largest Knowledge and Expert consulting capability globally and part of the FIG practice, with 250+ members and a global footprint across 25+ locations, focusing on financial services domains, e.g., Retail banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Wealth & Asset Management, Fintech, and Insurance to name a few.
The Payments team within PFIC also has a global footprint, with 10+ members based across Gurgaon, New York, Waltham, and Frankfurt. We are expanding the Payments capability in Asia and EU.
What You’ll Do
As a part of the PFIC payments team, you will support consulting teams on client engagements with research requirements on payments related topics.
In this role, you will be consolidating data across multiple sources, developing unique perspectives, creating client ready materials and other tasks as needs arise.
You will conduct primary and secondary research within the payment’s domain using proprietary and third-party data sources. You will be responsible for packaging research findings in the form of client ready end products which could be power point presentations and/or financial models.
Over time, you will be expected to develop expertise within the topic and drive research and development of new knowledge as well as contribute to broader knowledge development and proprietary assets.
Additionally, you will be an active member of the global PFIC community and develop relationships around the globe to build on your knowledge and provide support to the broader network as needed.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in business, finance or economics
2+ years of relevant work experience in payments space (bank, payment platforms, fintech, payment technology organizations, consulting)
Strong understanding of banking, financial service, payments concepts
Superior problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
Professional attitude and service orientation
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment
Entrepreneurial and enjoys the challenges and rewards of research work in a dynamic and changing environment
Excellent written and verbal communication
Willing to travel (typically within the region) as required from time to time
