This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Beginner knowledge of application development
Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages, plus an interest in learning other coding languages and skills as needed
Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software
Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
Ensures the assigned project tasks are completed within established time and budget, and that objectives conform to the firm’s overall standards and objectives
Ensures monitoring alerts and systems events are assessed, prioritized, and managed, and creates and maintain operational metrics
Automates routine tasks by scripting or by other programmatic means, and collaborates with technology and business partners to continuously identify proactive monitoring and health check opportunities
Ensures potential client impacting incidents are identified and remediated prior to client impact or remediated as soon as possible after issues arise
Performs 1st and 2nd level support for application and platform incidents as needed
Drives continuous improvement of services and processes in order to increase platform stability and realize operational efficiencies
Participates in post incident reviews for client impacting incidents
Identifies post incident review action items and process improvement opportunities
Supports or leads as needed Resiliency events (Disaster Recovery, Sustained Resiliency, etc.)
Translates business requirements into proposed IT services & solutions
Develops and distributes performance metrics for core services and reporting for the unit
Contributes to the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of monitoring tools used
Provides technical and procedural training, coaching and guidance to support analysts
Brings a DevOps mindset to the entire software development life cycle, building, evolving and operating rapidly-changing resilient systems at scale
Qualifications
Minimum 8+ years technical experience in Web based technology environments and related dependencies between platforms, database, and application levels. (UNIX, Oracle)
Experience in building Geneos script and monitoring is preferred.
Experience with Monitoring Tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace is a plus.
Experience automating operational tasks with one or more of the following languages: Python, Unix Shell scripting , Java
Experience on scripting including Powershell/Shell/Perl and/or Python
Experience in the support of real time transaction processing applications
Understanding of Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, Enterprise design patterns, industry best practices, domain driven design, Microservices patterns nd architecture is a plus
Experience in Oracle, and SQL server databases is a plus
Experience in enterprise incident management practices, monitoring and performance tools.
Ability to quickly receive and process information, make appropriate risk based decisions.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Effective issue management skills, problem identification, root cause analysis, and solution recommendation.
Self-confident, self-directed, ability to work with various levels of staff and management.
Excellent time management skills
Ability to remain calm, work in a fast paced, at times pressured environment, and balance competing priorities.

Unix, Oracle, Geneos, Shell Scripting, Control – M, Autosys, Application support, and ITIL processes
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
At least 8+ years equivalent experience with at least 3 years in development or production support
Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) production support best practices
Experience working in the financial industry and with core cash management systems is a plus
Understanding of Financial and Banking applications or related business experience is a plus
