Job Description
Forensic Accounting professionals with experience in fraud investigations and/or claims support will form a part of the Center of Excellence unit and work across practices at J.S Held. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing consulting projects across the entire spectrum of forensic accounting, ranging from fraud investigations, fraud prevention programs, process reviews, supporting damage calculations in large disputes, among others. In doing so, you will be expected to have a working knowledge of various ERP systems and extraction of financial/operational data from these systems.
You’ll not only be assisting with investigating wrongdoings but also be actively involved in designing programs to assist clients shore up their governance frameworks to reduce / prevent losses due to unethical conduct. You’ll be working on exciting topics like fraud prevention, fraud detection, fraud risk assessments, loss of profit / damage calculations in disputes across sectors, among many others.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to;
Combine accounting knowledge with investigative skill sets in various investigative and litigation support engagements
Support fraud and misconduct investigations of varying size and complexity, including conducting suspect and witness interviews
Undertake fraud and anti-bribery and corruption risk management engagements, including assisting with delivery of workshops
Undertake analysis of financial data and other business records to identify transactions that warrant further investigation
Review supporting documentation, including but not limited to accounting records, policies, standard operating procedures, contracts, vouchers, etc.
Research and analysis of information from public domain sources in English and subscription-based databases (Factiva, Bloomberg, etc.)
Prepare report of investigative findings and / or presentations
Prepare analytical data for litigation and expert testimony, as needed
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualified CAs or Inter CA with an in-depth understanding of accounting concepts
Background in accounting, corporate finance, corporate security/ investigations or internal/ external audit functions
Familiar with accounting / ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc)., effective corporate ethics, compliance, and integrity programs, public/ private sector counter-fraud measures, internal control methodologies, and design effectiveness
Prior experience in Big 4 is preferred
Previous experience with forensic services or a professional qualification in fraud examination (Certified Fraud Examiner) will be a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel
Should possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
Willingness to travel
