IBM Looking for Software Engineer at Kochi, Kerala, India Full Time

Introduction

Instana is looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to work out of the IBM office in Kochi.On the frontend side, you will work on a React based UI which is tuned for high performance using a modern reactive approach. At Instana, we process and analyze millions of spans, traces, metrics and events per second in order to provide actionable APM intelligence to our rapidly expanding customer base. Such scale creates a number of challenges to our frontend so the ideal candidate will have experience with UI Design best practices, a good understanding of SPA architecture and best practices in implementing reusable UI components.

You will be working in close collaboration with product managers, product designers, peer front-end engineers, and backend engineers to (re)design and implement existing and new features to deliver new capabilities for our product.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Implementing features around Instana’s core product user interface
• Create efficient React components that fit into a complex front-end application
• Working closely with Design/UX and Product Management to enhance Instana’s UI

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5+ years experience with JavaScript
• 5+ years experience with HTML/CSS, ideally including concepts like modularization, Accessibility and layouting
• React experience ideally including React hooks and technical component design
• Good code writing discipline and an eye for code efficiency and maintainability
• Able to work in cross-functional teams
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise

• Extensive modern JavaScript experience
• Reactive programming experience (e.g. RX.js)
• TypeScript knowledge
• Experience working in self-organized product delivery teams
• Experience with JS/React testing frameworks
• Experience of Kanban or other Agile frameworks
• An understanding of Kanban
