System Administrators are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a System Admin with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your Role and Responsibilities
System administration L3 support in the areas relating to infrastructure design, performance tuning, troubleshooting, installation, patching and configuration : Windows Servers (2K8, 2K12, 2K16), VMWare vSphere, vCenter and ESXI environment.
Administer all servers/services including Domain Controllers, File, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, Print, Application, Backup, WSUS, Exchange/SMTP, Citrix, IIS/HTTP, NLB and Virtual.
Responsibilities
Perform systems Lifecycle Management for all equipment, including planning, implementation, maintenance, upgrade, consolidation and decommissioning of enterprise hardware and software
Detect, isolate, document, report and resolve system outages or problem encountered during operations, which includes collecting diagnostic data, restore system operation, developing workaround and other activities necessary for recovery of the system.
Perform system monitoring, analysis and document performance and conduct trend analysis as required and will be responsible for capacity planning.
Provide security measures, vulnerability assessment and maintain patch management with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS/SCCM) and ensure compliance
Develop & maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, user guides, test plans, disaster recovery, failover.
Design and implement redundant systems, policies and procedures for backup/restore, high availability, disaster recovery to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
Assist and support cross-functional teams to restore the services in case of failure.
24X7 Production support and should be able take up on-call on rotational basis
End to end ownership for incident response, troubleshooting, post mortem, author incident reports by coordinating with multiple engineering teams, RCA for issues spanning code, network, database, and system components.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Minimum 6+ years of experience supporting server virtualization VMWare/Hyper-V
Hands on experience coding batch/powershell scripts for automating repeat manual tasks
Minimum 2 year experience on cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP)
At least 2 year experience implementing VMWare products like vSAN, NSX, vRA & vROPS
Hands on experience implementing clustering & HA configuration.
Worked on BSOD, crash dump analysis.
Good hardware knowledge on IBM, Dell, CISCO UCS & HP is required.
Strong knowledge of SAN storage, VMFS, iSCSI, NFS, etc.
