Your Role and Responsibilities
First Line Manager is the leadership role, leading 2 or 3 squads (~25 HC) who are involved in software development and deployment using Agile practices
Hybrid Application Development – Leading teams on hybrid technologies extending from Mainframe to Cloud development. Your experience in following areas will be beneficial – Prior development management experience with Mainframes, experience of having transformed projects from legacy to Cloud technologies
Evaluate and guide Total cost of Ownership of project – Review & Assess existing application architecture, development and deployment processes and look for continuous improvement opportunities.
Lead and Drive Innovation – Investigate and consider alternatives to develop innovative solutions. Knack for evaluating new technologies and acting as a catalyst to engineering solutions. Review existing systems/processes and challenge the validity of given procedures and processes with a view towards enhancement or improvement and automation.
Manage Application Life Cycle Management – Execute or support a wide range of process activities beginning with Requirement analysis, design, development, test, and final delivery
Leading stability & Reliability of Application portfolio – Adherence to change management processes, Reduction in Technical Debts
Lead Software Engineering Practices – DevSecOps, Test Driven Development, Test Automation
Act as an Agile Evangelist to form self – empowered teams
Interface with IBM Global Teams / Brands to ensure that the business requirements are captured, prioritized, and delivered as per business needs
Execute people management activities: Budget/Finance/ICA Management; Attrition Management (projection, prevention, retention) and Employee Motivation (education, career path, skill development, training, mentor-ship program, awards and recognition).
Self-starter and can work independently.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
15+ yrs of total experience and 4+ yrs as People Manager
This role would suit an experienced and highly driven professional
Experience in leading large application development projects, with strong knowledge of Web technologies and Industry best development practices.
Experience working in Agile Software Development.
Proven ability to solve complex business challenge through collaboration and teamwork.
A client focused mindset, with a track record of exceptional feedback.
Ability to manage challenging stakeholder through data driven conversations.
A focus on continuous improvement, learning and measurable outcomes.
Ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups ranging from technology practitioner to senior executives.
Proven ability to build and lead a High-performance culture.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Exposure to development methodologies, especially Agile
Technical Experience in career history as a Developer, Team Lead, Project Manager, People & Functional Manager, with demonstrated grip on functional expertise, especially with IT systems supporting Sales/Marketing
Exposure to having managed projects in Mainframes, Spark/Scala, Web dev areas like PHP/Laravel, Angular JS and IBM Db2 pureScale
Expertise with having migrated projects from legacy technologies to Cloud will be a distinct advantage
