We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of HR Project Manager
Principal responsibilities
Role purpose (overall high level summary of the role)
The HR Project Manager will typically lead a single complex project, sit across multiple projects / workstreams or manage a programme management office within a flagship programme. Through 2022 they will primarily support the Digital HR Programme and will be responsible for leading and managing the day to day operation of the Programme Office with control of multiple complex workstreams and activities within the context of the programme. This is a HR initiative to enhance the digital HR solutions and customer experience through portal redesign and process automation.
Responsibilities:
Manage and present a holistic view across change impacts and interventions; readiness; active risk, assumption, issue and dependency (RAID) management; financial planning and tracking (including benefits tracking as appropriate); milestones identification and management; and senior stakeholder management (both within and external to the Group HR function).
Ensure effective reporting of progress, issues, dependencies and risks to project or programme leadership and committees (as appropriate) and making recommendations to influence decision making, in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
Ensure the Programme team is resourced appropriately and within budget, taking appropriate actions to manage these aspects when variance is forecast or realised.
Provide direction and guidance across multiple workstreams/BDUs that form the programme, ensuring alignment to scope, governance structures implemented, and to agreed timelines, influencing the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes.
Manage the interlock across the programmes workstreams/BDUs to deliver the implementation approach and plan, including liaison with local as well as global teams to ensure local deployment plans align and consider any wider activities / dependencies outside of programme delivery that may impact plans.
Represent the programme at wider governance forums and with senior stakeholders as required.
Oversee and ensure effective coordination and compliance with HR governance and control. Ensure risks/issues/actions raised are agreed and resolved/completed.
Manage the day to day Digital HR programme office, ensuring effective reporting on financials, progress etc. across Workstreams/BDUs working in partnership with Leads and Programme Managers, managing both relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives and to the change portfolio across HSBC
Enforce the robust governance structures that are in place and adhering to HSBC’s Change Framework, in order to facilitate effective programme delivery in line with financial, FTE and key milestone targets.
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks and likelihood of operational risk occurring through the execution of his/her duties in this role. Reviewing the risks associated with the role and inherent in the function in its support of the Global Businesses/ Group Functions and Digital Business Services will be critical, or any identified by the Group HR management team relating to the Transformation function, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new processes.
The jobholder will address any areas of concern in conjunction with his/her line management and/or the appropriate department.
The jobholder is also expected to adhere to the Change Framework and programme/portfolio governance standards to minimize the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
Ensure all programme workstreams have sufficient resource allocation and that change is implemented successfully.

Qualifications
Requirements
Typical qualifications would include a Bachelor’s degree/equivalent experience
Programme/Project based Certifications to support role desirable
Knowledge of key project and programme management risks and considerations
Knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with senior stakeholders
Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments
Proven ability in successfully managing and delivering complex global/regional change initiatives at scale
Knowledge of the Global businesses and broad understanding of the role of HR in an organisation
Proven experience in operating in a portfolio manager role across a multi-discipline portfolio
Proven experience of managing financial and operational controls across a multi-discipline portfolio
