Primary job responsibilities
Ability to operate and maintain various OS platforms, with a focus on debugging, automation, availability, performance, and scale. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems. Work and collaborate across teams, such as Applications, Hardware, Network etc…
Qualifications
Required skills
Admin and troubleshooting Skills of Unix Infrastructure (Linux/AIX/Solaris)
Hands-on / Troubleshooting experience on Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster Server
Understanding of Network OSI Model, TCP/IP and Routing
Good knowledge of RAID Levels such as RAID-0, RAID-1,RAID-1+0, RAID-5
Good knowledge of LVM/SVM and luns (SAN) configuration on Unix (Linux/AIX/Solaris)
Exposure on virtualization Cloud / VMware technologies
Ability to develop simple/complex shell scripts as per requirements.
Troubleshooting various issues like performance, OS booting problems, Filesystem etc… on servers
Effective in dealing with Crises calls/Critical issues for business critical services
Additional Skill
Good knowledge about one of automation tool like Ansible / Puppet / chef
Knowledge about Agile practices and DevOps tools.
RedHat/Volumn manager Certification will be an added advantage.
Well versed with ITIL concepts and more specific understanding of Service operations activities.
Soft skills / Behavioral Qualities:
Efficiently manage all tasks
Taking ownership of tasks assigned tasks
Proactive approach in taking tasks
Active listening skills
Clear, Precise, and Timely communication with Customer/Team Members/Management
Ready to work in 365 days / 24 x 7 environment as per Business/Project requirements
