Full Job DescriptionManage the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring the team is staffed and SLA commitments are met. Define, develop and Implement playbooks for operational deliverables. Automate wherever possible to the last mile.
Drive Personnel management ensuring the engineers have what they need to provide best-in-class support
Participate in the hiring process to hire and build/grow the team of database engineers as needed
Propose, drive and implement initiatives within the support organization to maximize the customer support experience
Managing the engineers in the team effectively to keep the focus on the customers as well as develop their career
Handle escalations and guide engineers to the proper teams by diving deep into the problem
Drive effective business and technical discussions within the internal support & engineering teams to drive better alignment on expectations & deliverables
Focus on continuous improvement activities to optimize the operational delivery at all levels through metrics-based measurement, and optimization of activities/processes wherever possible.
Requirements –
Bachelors/Masters degree in IT/Computer Science/Any Engineering Domain
10+ years of experience in Database administration delivering production support to international customers, out of which at least 3+ years as a manager delivering 7/24/365 operations support
Strong proficiency in Planning, administration of MySQL databases on cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-premise
Analyze, leverage data & metrics, both quantitative and qualitative to take decisions
Experience with DB task automation. Ability to program in Bash shell scripts, PERL, Python, and SQL. Understanding of Ansible, Terraform is a plus.
Good experience in hiring candidates, mentoring and developing employees in their careers.
Experience in handling large volumes of data in a clustered environment.
Experience in handling a high volume of transactions from applications
