Full Job DescriptionHPE 3PAR Storage System Engineer responsible for reproductions of customer found issues in a customer like environment. The person in this position will work closely with support and Engineering teams to understand the key attributes of a customer environment and workload that could be involved in the customer experiencing issues not found in internal testing, reproducing the issue, working collaboratively to root cause the issue and then verifying the fix to the root cause works in the customer-like environment.
In this position you will be researching customer environments to understand customer configurations, workloads, and specific use cases of the HPE Storage products like Primera, Nimble in their IT environment and develop and execute regression testing. You will also reproduce customer specific issues and work with development teams to resolve and eliminate customer bugs. Shall develop a proactive approach to eliminate bugs prior to SE and HW Release. You will interact with Development Engineers and Architects. This job requires a Systems Engineer Mentality to understand all of the components HW and SW in the Customer Environment and day to day customer usage and challenges.
Set and maintain quality standards for company products through the use of systematic processes. Develops, modifies, and executes software test strategies, plans and suites. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. May develop tools and environments to automate test execution. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.
Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.
Responsibilities:
Designs limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.
Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.
Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Typically 2-4 years experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Using software systems design tools and languages.
Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills.
Designing software systems running on multiple platform types.
Software systems testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
