Under broad direction demonstrates creativity, foresight, and scientific judgment in anticipating and solving hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation problems through the development of new and improved software technologies and processes. Computer technology experience in Linux, Unix, and Windows operating environments is expected. Job role contributes directly to value creation via personal contribution. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined. Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Geophysics or Geology and a minimum of 5 years related experience or a combination of related advanced degree and work experience. Leadership ability as well as technical knowledge is required at this level.
