As a Senior Manager – Software Engineering, you will demonstrate accountability for functional, business and broad company objectives. In the role, you will be responsible for leading the Product Software development team which designs Medical Devices in GE Healthcare. You are expected to apply your technical expertise to solve problems, and provide directions to the team involved in product development. Active involvement in Architectural discussions, Product roadmap creation and strategic discussions on portfolio decisions. Develop teams and enable them to excel in executions.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Ability to build a world class software development team and talent management by attracting, hiring, developing and retaining the best talent.
Provide strong technical leadership thorough understanding of product development lifecycle and successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation and resolution of product needs.
Work with cross functional teams effectively, including engaging with customer to deliver word class product in the Healthcare Domain. Work with 3rd parties / partners to for product development and resource engagements.
Continuous improvement: Foster the culture of innovation in the teams to improve productivity, quality, usability, user experience and efficiency including developing prototypes and validating it in customer premises.
Plan and manage budgets for the software function.
Design, build, deliver and maintain software applications & services. Working in the areas of machine, cloud, platform and/or application. Responsible for full software lifecycle including activities such as requirement analysis, documentation/procedures and implementation.
Typically a 1st line manager of professionals or a 2nd line manager of a professional department. Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with strong background in software development.
Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, Azure/ AWS.
Prior experience of web services, API, REST and RPC.
A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Product Software Development.
At least 5 years of experience in a formal people management role. Proven ability to attract, retain & develop key and diverse talent
Experience in complete Product Development life cycle,
Strong experience in Scaled Agile framework, Software Development Lifecycle processes (from requirement generation to product release), software quality management, effort estimation, planning and delivery of Software.
Experience in partnering with external software design services vendors to accelerate / scale up.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to independently work with multiple global stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Desired Characteristics
Proven expertise in Java and AI, ML Technologies
Experience in JAVA, UI Development – Experience in Medical Device development
Substantial knowledge of current business function and information technologies
Knowledge of DICOM and HL7 is preferred
