Job Description Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading a team of professionals and providing payroll and benefits administration support to the GE businesses while focusing on enterprise standards, compliance and standardization. This role will also develop solid relationships with key stakeholders to maintain operational performance through leveraging metrics and trends and identifying areas for improvement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Manage a team of payroll specialists & ensuring seamless payroll delivery for the designated countries
Provide coaching and guidance to the team to develop them and help them grow
Work with regional teams and global teams to execute projects & other strategic initiatives.
Ensure monthly payroll deliveries as per the defined metrics
Set up regular review and update calls with country stakeholders
Manage and implement Change requests
Execute regular process control audits & take corrective actions wherever required
Manage automated multiple Payroll Input tools, coordinate /follow up with stakeholders & vendors, provide guidance to ensure correct data is processed to payroll.
Ensure timely and accurate execution of payrolls & tax process aligning 100% to both local and global compliance.
Review & sign off Variance Reports, Approve Pay Registers and Bank Transfer Files.
Approve /Initiate salary transfer thru bank portal for online transfer.
Review off cycle Pay register and bank payments.
Manage exit requirements and terminal payments per approved company policy and process in compliance with the Country Local Labor Law provisions/GE Policies.
Coordinate Payroll Audits
Manage social security & benefits, enrolment and payments in compliance to the Local Labor Law provisions.
Monitors SLA’s on queries coming in from Employee, Finance & HR
Responsible for tracking, gathering, preparing and reporting monthly Payroll Metrics.
Applying legal patches in the system (any changes that affects calculation or statutory reporting) – Communicate /Coordinate changes to Vendor and ensure that changes are implemented, tested and rolled out.
Review as-is process, identify & lead improvement plan by implementing lean methodology, drive operation excellence.
Coordinate with Vendor /Local Contacts for Approval & submission of Local Country Related Statutory Forms OR similar requirements for any countries in the region.
Should have sound knowledge on mobility payroll and GME payroll input tool and processing.
Maintain data confidentiality for all payroll-related matters.
Resolve payroll-related issues or incidences by coordinating with Post and Hub team and creating incident reports as necessary.
Support with Accounts Reconciliations and Finance queries.
Drive Lean Projects in the region to derive cost, quality and productivity benefits
Develop best practices and process improvements
Work on adhoc reports and share with stakeholders as and when requested
Provide effective and timely resolution to queries from employees and other stakeholders
Understand business hierarchy, analyze data issues and provide support to the user population and also support the region on all payroll related requirements
Ability to work with various stakeholders who manage other downstream systems, especially OHR/ HR Ops tools etc.
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 10+ years of experience in end to end Payroll Process through a reputed vendor /data entry/ client servicing /customer service role & other tools.
Experience in leading teams
Strong knowledge on in country payroll process and statutory requirements for the following countries:
Strong Knowledge in ANZ Payroll, APAC Payroll & Payroll process of Middle East Countries
Strong analytical skills & eye for details.
Should have some experience around payroll migration from one region to another
Should have a sound knowledge of downstream systems supporting payroll
Customer service focus with controllership mind set and positive can-do attitude
Ability to work within time constraints to meet daily objectives
Well versed with Microsoft Excel /Word/Power Point and web-based applications
Flexibility to meet customer needs and deadlines is a MUST
Previous high-level transaction processing experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Masters’ degree, MBA or other advanced degree will be an added advantage
Analytical and strategic thinking skills
Comprehensive understanding of and ability to assimilate local regulatory and compliance
Requirement into an ongoing operational framework.
Cultural awareness & sensitivity: ability to flex style to suit differing cultural norms and experience of leading a culturally diverse team
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
