Job Description & Qualifications
The principle role of the Software Engineer – Mainframe is to support and deliver the Variable Marketing Product features. Responsibilities include production/operations support, development, process and controls. The Software Engineer will be responsible to liaison with Interfacing PDO teams, Other IT Skill Teams and Business Customers to deliver the Product commitments.
Responsible for development, integration, testing, operation, and maintenance of software product.
Develops software that delivers user stories that contribute to a valuable working software product.
Work with Product Manager, Product Owner and Product Team members on Backlog Refinement and Estimation
Partners with a Product Anchor and Product Designer to understand each user story’s use case and execute a user-friendly product experience.
Perform manual/automated unit tests with working software, to confirm software functionality conformance to functional and non-functional requirements.
Perform manual/automated functional tests to confirm user story acceptance and to detect regression defects.
Reviews ongoing production software operations and troubleshoots production issues (e.g., DevOps).

Around 5 to 8 years of experience in IT
Experience in Mainframe DB2, COBOL, JCL skills Need resource with strong knowledge in Cobol, DB2, SQL, Stored Procedures and JCLs. Experience using CA7 and Endevor tool Good understanding on RDBMS and Ability to write efficient database queries and fine tune queries using SQL Additional Skills (Preferred) : IMS DC/DB knowledge and exposure to Web Based Java Technologies Relevant experience in development and production support. Experience is SDLC, Agile and DevOps methodologies
Experience in Incident Management, Problem Management, Request Fulfillment processes Good understanding of IT Security and Controls Exposure to Quality Control Procedures and Practices Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Able to work independently, liaison with business and other stakeholders
Possess a continuous improvement mindset Should be a self-starter with ability to work on complex changes with minimal guidance. Should be willing to work on production support items and development at the same time
