Principle Software Engineer, 5G C Job Overview
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our 5G Engineering team. The 5G team builds products and services for service providers to make an effective transition from 4G networks to 5G. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Management and Senior architects along with other cross-functional teams such as Platform & Infrastructure teams to build complex strategic components from inception to delivery
As a Principal Software Engineer, you’ll work on requirements analysis, high-level and low-level software design, implementation and release of 5G Next gen Core networking software products. We look for individuals with extensive experience in telecom and data networking. We also value people who are passionate about service based architectures building infrastructure services for service providers.

In this role, you will:
Technically own requirements, design and implementation of robust scalable, 5G software components and microservices that integrate with both public and private cloud environments
Apply architecture and design principles to enable Service Provider 5G usage scenarios
Work as part and mentor of the scrum teams to design & implement efficient, flexible and scalable 5G services
Work in strong collaboration with product managers & senior architects to effectively realize customer use-cases
Be responsible for the quality of the software delivers
Front-end customer demoes and presentations of 5G software components and services
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge and experience in 3GPP, 4G EPC, 5G Core networks SBA architecture, HTTP2 signaling protocols
Extensive architectural experience building and handling large scale telecom and networking products
Extensive background in networking technologies, protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, Routing, Switching & HTTP
Working experience and knowledge of SIP, DIAMETER, RADIUS, AAA is good to have
Knowledge in Cloud orchestration systems such as Kubernetes is an added advantage
Excellent coding skills in C, C++ or Go.
Exceptional problem solving, analytical, trouble-shooting and debugging skills
Candidate must be passionate about solving complex problems in a fast-paced, innovative environment and grasp new technologies quickly in self-driven manner
Qualification
Typically requires a minimum of 14+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12+ years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 9+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience in software development
