Position Overview
The Legal Solutions team within Legal Services is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is an experienced Python developer.
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our Enterprise Application and Data Platform development capabilities as part of Legal Solutions team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Python developer who enjoys assessing and understanding business requirements to build core engines, smart systems, and products.
The candidate must have experience with and is comfortable developing in Python, Python web frameworks (like flask or django) interfacing with database systems like MS SQL Server / Azure SQL. Additionally, they will have experience in developing python-based applications, CI/CD development workflows, unit testing through pytest, and docker / docker-compose configurations. Experience in building and using Jupyter Notebooks is a plus.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinating with development teams to determine application requirements.
Writing scalable code using Python programming language.
Testing and debugging applications.
Developing back-end components.
Integrating user-facing elements using server-side logic.
Assessing and prioritizing client feature requests.
Integrating data storage solutions.
Coordinating with front-end developers.
Reprogramming existing databases to improve functionality.
Building custom decorators, Generators, async programming etc. and writing effective and scalable code.
Requirements
Must have:
5 -7 years of development experience in Python ide professional SW development environment.
Proficient in OOPs concepts and design patterns to build a scalable and pluggable design.
Strong programming/ scripting knowledge in Python.
Good understanding of RESTful APIs.
Experience in building real world solutions on AWS or Azure.
Knowledge of microservices architecture, design, and implementation.
Excellent Analytical, Problem Solving & Debugging skills.
Knowledge of IP networking, network analysis and performance and application issues using standard tools.
Experience in unit testing, interacting with CI/DevOps systems.
Has experience of working in Agile Environment.
Define, Setup/Configure, Deploy and Maintain source code and binary repositories (e.g.: GIT, Artifactory)
Develop scripts/make files for standardizing product SW builds & packages.
Implementation level knowledge on container technologies.
Define, Setup/Configure, Deploy and Maintain build/ packaging system – System administration for Build and CI servers and Tools.
Expertise in Database – Ms Sql Server, Sql & Toolkits like sqlAlchemy.
Hands on knowledge with Azure Devops & Web Frameworks like Django or Flask.
Hands on knowledge with Data Analysis Tools like Pandas.
Expertise in Python automation frameworks like unit test or pytest.
Hands on experience in Linux Environment.
Good understanding of CI/CD Workflows & Client – Server Architecture.
Expertise in Client Side and Server-Side Scripting languages like Html, Java Script, CSS.
A deep understanding and multi-process architecture and the threading limitations of Python
