Elevate is recruiting a Technical Writer who has a proven experience of writing effective content in a highly technical field, such as IT Services (software development, computer science) or engineering. Your ability to evaluate and analyse complex information is second to none, and you have a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand.

Specifically, this role will:
Create and maintain in-depth user guides, FAQs, technical overviews, and in-product help documentation for IT Operations and Infrastructure functions
Test both the process and its documentation for accuracy and consistency
Write content for on-line help files, reference materials, educational materials, procedural and policy manuals, user guides, technical reports and instructional materials that explain the installation, operation and maintenance of IT and infrastructure devices
Research subjects by analysing reference materials (for example, specifications, blueprints, diagrams, maintenance and training manuals, reports) and in coordination with in-house SMEs
Gather information about target audience needs and analyse how to structure and format information to meet those needs
Prepare documentation plan for each document for monitoring progress and reporting
Create, follow and enforce the use of consistent style and formatting by using house style guide in creating other functional documents
Identify problem areas or structural deficiencies and proactively contribute to their improvement
Comfortable using a content management system (CMS) to manage the lifecycle of technical documentation including draft, review, and publish phases
Essential experience and skills:
2-4 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
Proven working experience in writing documentations for an IT department
Ability to manage multiple writing assignments simultaneously
Experience of working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) both in-person and remote
Technical skills:
Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe suite of applications
A great understanding of the technology in an enterprise infrastructure stack – storage, compute, cloud
Experience with source control systems and workflow tools – Git, JIRA/Confluence and, familiarity with API documentation for REST or. NET APIs would be an added advantage
Qualifications:
Graduate in Information Technology from a reputed institute or related experience
