This position is part of global eMobility organization responsible for complete Systems Engineering for eMobility Product Portfolio( Power Electronics and Power Distribution & Protection)
As a Tech specialist, person would be responsible for leading the system safety requirements, system detail design and optimization, system readiness and utilization with a specific focus on the functional safety of the system to comply with ISO 26262 and various legislative requirements of eMobility Products.
In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for defining the functional safety requirements and safety architecture that meets the functional, performance goals, FuSa and Cyber security requirements as defined by the OEM and Systems Team.
The role also requires the incumbent to work with the Senior System Specialist and Power Electronics hardware engineers and influence the E/E architectue, software architecture to drive the software and controls design that is efficient and minimizes risks during the product development cycle.
The incumbent will also be responsible for driving the integration of fault diagnostics and OBD to establish maturity in line to Agile product development.He will also work with Engineering and Pursuits leaders and interact with the OEM leads and drive systems architecture that meets the base development needs. The incumbent will be the Functional Safety Manager from Eaton to represent in various OEM and Supplier interactions.
Identifies and drives syergy for ELECTRIFICATION AND DIGITAL SOLUTIONS initiatives & architecture buildng blocks with Industrial and Electrical sector.
Develops engineering methods to aid in robust safety architectures and fault reaction plans across the Product Line : A sample to SoP
Owns the delivery of Safety architectures for eMobility organization with Suppliers & Customers to achieve the required ASIL levels.
Would drive standard work packages forSafety Architecture for: Inverters , DC – DC , OBC, Power Distribution & Protection
Deliver the Safety toolkit that meets the need of Functional Safety, AUTOSAR, Cyber security and performance requirements.
Work with the CoE to deliver the artificats needs for ISO 21434, ISO 26262 & ASPICE L3 + compliance on all the eMobility product lines.
Executes projects as per recommendations and in compliance with ASPICE.
Deploys FTA/FMEA/FMEDA process to enhance design robustness. Contribute to continued enhancement of architecture to support additional product features.
Capture the knowledge in the form of publications. Contribute to industry technical papers and conferences in embedded software.
Possesses a broad strategic vision of the division’s future products and services and provides consultation in the chosen area of expertise with a strong system level understanding. Be a signatory for major deliverables / program.
Represent organization in different external forums, regulatory bodies to influence upcoming standards.
Keeps track of latest power electronics, battery technology and controls strategies. Applies knowledge to Grid-to – Mobility power conversion applications and contribute to technology road maps .
Influence selection of controller and other hardware components that meets product requirments and also helps the software meet the product performance requirements.
Qualifications
Requirement:
B E/M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science, 15 + years, Level 3 Functional Safety Expert certification
Excellent Knowledge of ISO26262, demonstrated implementation of safety certifications on automotive products
Excellent Knowledge ofautomotive communications standards CAN, LIN, Flexray etc.
Working experience on system configurations and fault reaction plans
Knowledge of quality standards and certifications ( ISO26262, ISO14229, ASPICE , ISO21435)
Excellent Knowledge on safety concepts and architectural design for safety compliant HV prodducts.
Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts and architectural considerations for eMobility Products.
