Full Job Description
Rockwell Automation is looking for an experienced IT automation engineer to join the End User Experience Technology team. The engineer will be supporting the End User Experience Technology team to automate solutions and configurations with customer experience/productivity in mind. This engineer will work closely with the End User Experience Technology team to understand the current and future RA client technology roadmap. This team is responsible for thousands of client endpoint devices across multiple platforms and the services which support them. The ideal candidate has a strong background in client engineering, Microsoft Endpoint Management, scripting, OS deployment, OS servicing, and software deployment. The engineer will be focused on developing automated solutions that reduce manual effort and mature the end user experience.
This role will also be a critical part of the enterprise mobility team with a focus on creating and managing policies for company issues mobile phones.
Responsibilities
Automate with PowerShell, GraphAPI, Power BI, and Git, including version control and source code management
Automate administrative tasks and procedures (Intune configuration across multiple tenants, T1 & T2 fix-it scripts, etc.)
Manage client system infrastructure via Microsoft Endpoint Management (Intune and System Center Configuration Manager)
Develop specific purpose code to automate support tasks and reduce End User Experience delivery times
Modernize and mature automated support by third-party service providers
Develop specific purpose code to automate enterprise software administration for client systems management (software delivery, OS servicing, and client reporting)
Mentor other IT engineers, share expertise and skills development
Align with RA security policy, RA IT Security and Identity Access Management teams to drive best practices
Create and maintain technical documentation
Participate in the diagnosis and solutions of complex systemic problems
Participate in the development and creation of client technology roadmaps
Create and Manage policies for company issued mobile phones
Interact with mobile carriers globally to resolve user issues
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in Agile work methodology
Experience creating and managing Dev Ops pipeline tools (e.g. Chocolatey, Jenkins, Salt), version control software (e.g. Git), Azure cloud services
BS in CS, IT or a related discipline or equivalent work experience and 3+ years experience working in an engineering role
Expertise with PowerShell, GraphAPI, Power BI, and Git
Expertise with System Management tools (e.g. Intune, SCCM, Tivoli, Afaria, SOTI MobiControl)
Expertise with Windows 10, iOS, Android, and MacOS operating systems
Experience prioritizing issues and tasks effectively to successfully deliver features and stories per the current program increment/sprint
Strong initiative to independently develop solutions and make technical recommendations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written – with ability to communicate clearly and at the right level of detail
