1. Responsible for adequate well trained staff available for the department based on the scope of tests, complexity of tests and volume of work in the laboratory
2. To supervise testing in the laboratory including clinical haematology, clinical biochemistry, Clinical pathology
3. Responsible for the adequacy, rotation & training, maintaining training records and conduct retraining and reassessment of his/ her team
4. Review daily IQC, EQC, Inter-lab & Intra-lab comparison, maintenance of QC records with CA/PA (corrective and preventive actions) and all documentations
5. Provide monthly QC review with QA representative and ensure periodic department audits
6. Update and review test SOPs and communicate to the Lab Technicians.
7. Ensure implementation of the defined processes of NABL and quality management system
8. Identify need for adding new tests in scope
9. Maintain TAT, errors logs, critical values, sample rejection, clinical correlation, sample retention and discard and to follow other documented protocols
10. Monitor STAT & Pending list
11. Supervise & Maintain installation, calibration & AMC records of all equipment
12. Supervise Record of instrument breakdown with CA/PA, validation of new kit with records
13. Ensure proper clinical examination of samples (blood and other body fluids) for reporting and interpretation of results.
14. Responsible for authentication of all reports
